Did you hear the one about Snopes and Babylon Bee walk into a bar........

Folks in the know recognize that fact-checker Snopes is simply a Liberal propaganda outlet....but did you know that they are really, really dummmmmmmmmmm????

1. "Snopes Fact Checks Babylon Bee’s Story About CNN Offering Jussie Smollett a Job

“The network, according to the Babylon Bee, was reportedly impressed with Smollett’s ability to fabricate a story out of thin air”
The Babylon Bee is a well-known satire site and yet, Snopes fact-checked one of their recent posts. They may as well fact check The Onion.

In any case, The Babylon Bee poked fun at both CNN and Jussie Smollett (the actor recently embroiled in an alleged hate crime hoax) in a satirical piece suggesting CNN offered Smollett a job.

Though Snopes acknowledged the Bee is a satire site, they fact-checked anyway:

On 18 February 2019, the Babylon Bee website added their own fictional twist to this story when they published an article reporting that Smollett had been offered a job at the CNN.

The network, according to the Babylon Bee, was reportedly impressed with Smollett’s ability to fabricate a story out of thin air:

While Empire actor Jussie Smollett has been having a tough week so far, there appears to be a silver lining: cable news channel CNN has offered Smollett a job as an investigative reporter and on-air anchor after witnessing his skills at fabricating a story entirely out of thin air.

CNN producers were reportedly impressed throughout the ongoing saga of Smollett’s apparent hoax attack on himself. They realized early on the facts didn’t add up but were fascinated with how well the actor kept the narrative going. An HR rep quickly reached out to Smollett to see if he’d be interested in taking on a position at the news organization after news broke that the entire thing was probably fabricated.

This was not a genuine news story, although some readers mistook it for such. The Babylon Bee is a satirical website whose disclaimer notes that “The Babylon Bee is Your Trusted Source For Christian News Satire.”

2. "Snopes Rates Babylon Bee World's Most Accurate News Source

U.S.—As part of a detailed review of prominent online news outlets, a large team of fact-checkers at Snopes.com unanimously voted The Babylon Bee as the world’s most accurate news source, Snopes editors revealed Friday.

After reviewing over 1,200 of the Bee’s articles, opinion pieces, and exclusive news stories published over the site’s eighteen months of existence, the Snopes team all agreed that the Bee was “far more accurate” than competing news sources.

“It’s not even close,” Snopes writer Kim LaCapria wrote as part of the announcement. “Whereas sites like CNN, Fox News, and MSNBC are constantly dropping the ball, The Babylon Bee has never gotten a single fact wrong.”

“They are the one true news source, the pinnacle of trustworthy journalism,” she added reverently.

The team of editors on the review panel stated that the key factor in the decision was the Bee’s relentless, fact-based coverage of stories like Steven Furtick’s recent multi-million dollar contract with Lakewood Church, Benny Hinn’s troubles with the IRS, and exclusive scoops on Joel Osteen’s ongoing wacky antics.

“Their stories are just too good to be made-up. They’re excellent,” another Snopes writer said.

At publishing time, sources had confirmed that several Bee writers had been shortlisted for a Pulitzer Prize."

"Snopes Rates The Devil's Lies As 'Mostly True'

U.S.—As the only unbiased arbiter of truth in a world of fake news, Snopes continues to expand its selfless mission to fact-check all the things everywhere. Whether they’re calling out a popular satire site for being conspicuously hilarious or explaining how blatant lies point to deeper truths, you can count on Snopes to probe the darkest depths, like a colonoscope of accuracy.

As it turns out, not even Satan himself is safe from a Snopes fact-check. In a recent post, Snopes analyzed several statements made by the Prince of Darkness, utilizing their tried-and-true, highly methodical, investigative techniques to determine how his words lined up with their feelings.

In one example, Satan claimed that eating a particular fruit would not cause anyone to die, but would instead grant them an improved understanding of moral issues. According to Snopes’ assessment, while consuming the fruit has been followed by billions and billions of deaths, those casualties were more of an indirect result, while the part about gaining knowledge of good and evil was generally accurate. They also checked all the lies Satan told Jesus while He was being tempted in the desert and pointed out that he did quote Scripture, albeit out of context, earning the Prince of Darkness another "Mostly True" rating.

In the article, Snopes explains that while the Devil has clearly made some factually inaccurate statements over the years, they observed that he tended to “mix a lot of truth with a little bit of lie,” thus earning the “Mostly True” label. "
