Wyoming small-government conservatives revolt against GOP social agenda | Colorado Independent

Western Republicans have traditionally exhibited a libertarian bent. They like small government, genuinely small government, the kind that intrudes as little into their lives as possible. Those kind of conservatives have looked on with shock as Republican lawmakers heady with victory since November have sought as a top priority to expand government reach and draw on more taxpayer cash in a controversial bid to limit access to abortion around the country. In Wyoming, the reddest of red states, the two Republican parties are battling for the soul of the party. So far, the small government Republicans are winning there.

'Bout time.

A shame that the same liberoidals jumping up and down with glee right now, will vilify these same people as mean spirited, hard hearted, cold, cruel, selfish, neanderthal tools of the Koch brothers, when their attention turns to the socialistic welfare state apparatus.

 To the Liberals in both parties. May they join the Libertarians in a genuine 3rd party challenge.

This will be interesting to follow. One of the reasons I have not supported the Republican Party is that it has no backbone to actually stand it's ground on the Implementation and Enforcement of both Fiacal AND Social Conservatism on a National Level.

If I were to cut $1 Trillion from the budget and add three new Socially Conservative laws to the books (especially if at least one of those laws was part of cutting the budget), have I increased or decreased the size of Government. I would suggest that not only have I decreased the size of Government but I have very likely refocused that Government closer to where its line of sight ought to be.

What are those three new socially conservative laws you have in mind?

They could be almost anything. One of them could very well be the very law that Wyoming is having this pissing contest over. Another would be the immediate execution of all drug users, sans trial. The third might be a Constitutional amendment banning gay marriage. There are a ton of things that need to be done on that front and most of them cost little to no money.

seems to me you are using extremes to villiy liberals

and THAT is why liberals think people like YOU are "mean spirited"

look....as long as you keep insulting liberals and calling them names then liberals are going to think YOU are mean and rotten....

and you are also using SOME DECENT conservatives to paint a picture of ALL cons...
and THAT would be a lie...
there are PLENTY of conservatives (you?) who ARE meanspirited and full of hate (you?)

all you have to do is listen to ann coulter, michael savage, rush limbaugh (and all the other of the hundreds of conservative hate radio djs) and you will hear PLENTY of mean spirited conservative banter

people calling liberals names, calling them the ENEMIES of America, the ENEMIES of god, TRAITORS, ......stupid, morons, idiots.....

i hear cons delightedly discussing various things to do with liberals (hunt them down and kill them, take away all of their rights and deport them to third world muslim countries to be killed....)

I think it is great that there are decent and honorable conservatives who really want smaller government...

but unfortunately there are MILLIONS of cons who say they want smaller government yet want laws against pot, to re-criminalize homosexuality, to ban evolution, to make divorce harder to get....
