I must admit, that I was more than a little incredulous when I heard "Baseball Stars Called to Testify on Steroids" by Tom Goldman,on my local NPR station this morning.

Why is the Senate wasting time investigating the use of steroids by obscenely over-paid, testosterone poisoned ball players? I would much rather see an all out investigation of the $8.8 billion dollars of tax-payer money that went missing during J. Paul Bremer's tenure as Iraq's Pro-Consul. That is an issue far more worthy of Senate investigation than juicing by professional athletes who should know better anyways.

Such an investigation, however, would be sure to raise far more questions than this administration is willing to answer. But no Republican controlled, morally bankrupt Congress will initiate such an investigation.

BTW, that's one of those 'scandals' that has yet to surface.

Wasn't it your beloved Pelosi that started this whole thing? I remember her making a huge announcement to the league that if they didn't do something about illegal drug usage the Congress would step in. Hmm...

"They have a responsibility, not only to the sport, but to the children of America who look up to these players," Rep. Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., the House minority leader, said on NBC's Meet the Press.

It seems to be a bi-partisan insanity.

I thought McCain had something to say about it also, or did i imagine that?

Oh, he's in there. It seems this is the one issue the Democrats and Republicans can agree that they need to interfere in.

McCain is to Repubs what Zell Miller is to Demos.

Anyway is this 8.8 billion that board laughingstock is talking about gonna be the same as the other dozen or so scandals he's harped about? That is to say ZERO, NADA substance to the accusations?

Yeah the morally bankrupt part is great, just like the Democratically controlled congress the 40 years before '94. Like the one where they've enslaved Blacks to welfare in order to buy votes. I guess that makes them morally superior?

McCain is at the head of this. I dont care who started this whole fiasco. Dems or Reps. This is a waste of freakin money to investigate a business that is privately run over a substance that is only illegal cause the government made it illegal.

Stop wasting our freaking money god damn it on policing private industry from itself. If baseball wants to run itself into the ground by not having a steroid policy then let them. If the airlines want to run business badly then dont bail them out when they go bankrupt. Stop with all the ridiculousness. This is supposed to be a Capitalistic society but everyday i look and see more and more socialism creeping into our businesses and minds of our people. You look out for #1. If a private person chooses to give someone money, thats their problem. Dont give any of mine without my permission ala the government and their ridiculous spending!!!!
