Wow.... Fiscal Suicide....

Fiscal Suicide Ahead
By DAVID BROOKS
For President Obama to sustain his agenda and prevent national insolvency, he has to control health care and entitlement costs.

From the article;
But Obama needs those cuts for his whole strategy to work. Right now, his spending plans are concrete and certain. But his health care savings, which make those spending plans affordable, are distant, amorphous and uncertain. Without serious health cost cuts, this burst of activism will hasten fiscal suicide.

The socialized systems in Europe and Asia cost from 1/2 to 2/3 per capita what our health care system costs. Their citizens live longer healthier lives than do ours. Their infant mortality rate is far lower than ours.

So, let's get real about health care savings, and adapt a single payer system.

What we need to get serious about is REAL reform. Cut the bullshit already. There are at least half a dozen programs out there, run by and paid for by the government (translated our tax dollars) that could easily be merged/eliminated IF you really want ONE group coverage system that provides for everyone. That's just for starters. Please don't preach to me about getting real.
