and that good friend declared WAR on the United States and leader of a terrorist organization?

Bernardine Rae Dohrn (née Ohrnstein; born January 12, 1942) is an Associate Professor of Law at Northwestern University School of Law and the immediate past Director of Northwestern's Children and Family Justice Center.
Dohrn is a former leader of the Weather Underground, a domestic terrorist organization responsible for the bombing of the United States Capitol Building and the Pentagon.
As a member of the Weather Underground, Dohrn read a "Declaration of a State of War" against the United States government, and was placed on the FBI's 10 Most Wanted list, where she remained for three years.
She is married to Bill Ayers, a co-founder of the Weather Underground, who was formerly a tenured professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago.

Interaction between President Obama and Ayers Bernadine Dohrn's husband.

Sometime in the second half of 1995, Ayers and Dohrn hosted a coffee for Obama in their 4th Ward Kenwood townhouse (one mile northwest of the Obamas' 5th Ward Hyde Park condominium)[21] at which Palmer introduced Obama as her choice to succeed her as state Senator to about a dozen guests,[4][6] including prominent Chicago physician Quentin Young, national coordinator of Physicians for a National Health Program, which advocates universal, comprehensive single-payer national health insurance.[22]
