Would someone please tell me why we can’t

No offense, but that is a terrible idea. First, that would cause tremendous outrage in the Middle East and give al Qaeda a lot of support. Secondly, we in America have principles, whats the good of sinking to the enemy's level?

1) PETA would have a cow - pun intended

2. Republicans are Moderates and Liberals are Socialists. They ALL support terrorism. They just don't tell us. In what way does ELIMINATING terrorism BENEFIT us?

Combatting terrorism requires money, power, and people. -The 3 things the government wants more of in their pockets.

Eliminating those 3 benefits them how?

It's been a while, but if I remember correctly the answer is: 42.

I'm looking forward to I Robot. It was one of the first SF books I read. Azimov is one of my all time favorite writers.

The reason we won't do this is that there are only three uses the US has for a terrorist right now: dead, in prison or in interogation.

Anything else would be a waste of effort.
Besides, we know none of them are going to get their 100 virgins...

I read this with a certain amount of trepidation. I thought "well that just can't be entirely right, you're saying something wrong here". But the longer I sit here and think, I still am unable to come up with a response that would disprove it, other than I wouldn't go as far as to say "ALL politicians have no spine". I think some do.

Now that it bummed you out, get rid of the despair and begin to re-examine everything you know about politics and consider where the nation has come from.

Understand this didn't happen overnight.

Analyze "the system" like you would do a Bible study, and figure out what is wrong.

Then, you might know what you want to do about it.

Most of us have been conditioned to sit in front of a 27" sewer pipe and believe 30 second sound bites for a vote of "Bush" or "Kerry" as if the electoral college is even bound to pick who we want.

WHO DOES THE SYSTEM BENEFIT?

People in office.

WHO THREATENS THE SYSTEM?

Americans with power.

WHY DO CITIZENS NO LONGER HAVE GUNS NOR VOTING NOR JURY POWER?

It threatens the "system".
