Seen it...Taken it...Hate it.

Besides, I've called Michael Cloud (a bigwig with ASG) a number of times to discuss his communication techniques, and the dickweed has never returned my call.

Though it grieves me to say so, ASG is dead to me.

Libertarian.

That's a relief. I was worried that I was a Republican. :lol::lol::lol:

HAHAHA....same here! I loved the various other descriptions of the political parties. Hope you read them. Some ppl here may have taken this quiz. Interesting, the differences between Liberal and Statist.

Why do you hate it Dude? Wasn't your political party in there???   Inquiring minds.

Government should not censor speech, press, media or Internet.
Define: censor.

Is preventing the spread of kiffy porn on-line censorship? What about snuff videos? What about not letting companies advertise liquor to kids or air porn randomly in the middle of children's cartoons?
Military service should be voluntary. There should be no draft.
Ever? What if we're invaded?

Your quiz says I'm a libertarian

let me quote myself as I reply to the Libertarian platform:
2.4 Government Finance and Spending

All persons are entitled to keep the fruits of their labor. We call for the repeal of the income tax...
Anyone with common sense can reason that in order for the Federal government to perform its duties, it must have funding. Taxation is the only viable means of achieving this. The only other means with any chance of success if the government takeover of business- the results of which have been seen around the world.

3.4 Free Trade and Migration

We support the removal of governmental impediments to free trade.
define which impediments are unacceptable. After the Opium Wars, China was forced to allow imports of cheap goods from the British. This destroyed their economy and the livelihoods of their people. We are stupid if we allow ourselves to do the same thing... with the Chinese, to boot...
Though the violence (in Iraq and Afghanistan) may be in decline, this is no excuse to keep troops in the region for longer than it takes to begin a withdraw without undue delay—something the Libertarian Party has called for repeatedly.
I was against going in. We are their, however. If we leave, we create a power vacuum as we have in Central and South America in the past. Due to our meddling, the shit has hit the fan. Our only option is to take responsibility and stay aide the Iraqis until they are able to take the reins. Reality, not politics, must define determine the timeline.
Crossing an international border to support your family and pursue dreams of a better life is not an inherently criminal act like rape or robbery
Legally, it's a civil offense. In reality, it is at best trespassing and at worst a blatant sign that one has no intentions of obeying our laws.
For those workers already in the United States illegally, we can avoid "amnesty" and still offer a pathway out of the underground economy. Newly legalized workers can be assessed fines and back taxes and serve probation befitting the misdemeanor they've committed.
ICE: How long have you live here illegally?
Pablo: I just got here, esse
ICE: You just said you've worked here for two years
Pablo: No, Senor
ICE: Do you want to stay hee?
Pablo: Yes, Senor
ICE: You've been here at least the mandatory two years?
Pablo: yes, Senor.
ICE: How long?
Pablo: I just get here, Senor...

Thank you for the time, effort and thought you put into your response Beukema. Nice to meet you. :)

Your quiz's makers are sorely misinformed.
Liberals usually embrace freedom of choice in personal matters,
but tend to support significant government control of the economy.

Wrong. They're thinking of democratic socialists, socialists, and others to the left of the liberals

Liberalism (Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy)
They generally support a government-funded "safety net" to help
the disadvantaged, and advocate strict regulation of business.

Wrong again.

That's us. The Liberals sit to our right

I was a member of the Libertarian Party until a few years ago. Then they ran Bob Barr in 2008 and I had enough. I'm still mostly a libertarian. Just not a Libertarian.

A lame parlor trick to make people think they're more libertarian than they are.

Well, I've known for a long time, I was leaning that way, because I am conservative but not for the Republican Party, as it has been for a long time. ( Big government ) I will vote for their candidate though, because of my conservatism. I won't help split their ticket by voting for another, unless the Republican Party became more conservative.

Here's a wonderful quote from Reagan in 1975 from Reason magazine.

If you analyze it I believe the very heart and soul of conservatism is libertarianism. I think conservatism is really a misnomer just as liberalism is a misnomer for the liberals–if we were back in the days of the Revolution, so-called conservatives today would be the

Liberals and the liberals would be the Tories. The basis of conservatism is a desire for less government interference or less centralized authority or more individual freedom and this is a pretty general description also of what libertarianism is.

Now, I can’t say that I will agree with all the things that the present group who call themselves Libertarians in the sense of a party say, because I think that like in any political movement there are shades, and there are libertarians who are almost over at the point of wanting no government at all or anarchy. I believe there are legitimate government functions.

There is a legitimate need in an orderly society for some government to maintain freedom or we will have tyranny by individuals. The strongest man on the block will run the neighborhood. We have government to insure that we don’t each one of us have to carry a club to defend ourselves. But again, I stand on my statement that I think that libertarianism and conservatism are travelling the same path.

I hear that! They just have to have a good candidate, that will appeal to the people. The Party was formed in 1975 ( me thinks ) and it is growing, but not fast enough?? How they could ever win though without the minority and entitlement voters, makes it doubtful they will ever be in power.

I don't think any 3rd party has a chance against the Republican and Democratic party machines. They're just too powerful. And the number of entitlement voters just keeps growing as a percentage of the overall population, so the Republican Party will have to continue to move to the Left to stay competitive. I'll continue to vote 3rd Party, but eventually I'll either have to accept the US as a socialist democracy or find a more liberty-minded country.

Argentina :) It sounds doable. :)

I guess my beliefs that there should be legal consequences in certain instances for dishonesty, prostitutes and their clients don't belong in school zones, that there is nothing wrong with government spending to support business for purpose of stimulating economic prosperity, that economic policy with other countries can be a useful means of arm twisting, belief that some drugs should only be available through prescription, cutting expenses by 50% but balancing the budget and paying off debt over drastic cuts in taxes, has labeled me as a centrist.
