At the risk of having this thread MERGED, I'm wondering if they are Celebrating Osama bin Laden becoming Fish Food.

When I was in Panama we used to take the Captain's gig out fishing. Once when we were out we saw this gigantic fin sticking out of the water, we hauled up next to it and discovered it was a Whale Shark. We were on a 32' boat and this thing was bigger than we were. We played with it for about an hour until it reached deeper waters and dove away.
That was extremely cool!!

Nope.

Seen plenty of regular sized squids but no giants.

I think they inhabit deep water well beyond that of recreational diving.

I've seen more then my share of sharks, even had one circling my dive partner and I once about 30' down. We were on the bottom and backed up to a big rock, pulled the dive knifes but he lost interest and swam off.

PADI.

Sharks are pussy cats. I've been on dives where they actually bait the water with a big ball of frozen fish heads and guts and the sharks come around. Lot's of them!

They have little if any interest in us.
