The embarrassment of a third party isn't necessarily evidence of anything other than the emotional fragility of the embarrassed party. Also, the discomfort of European world leaders who are, by US political standards, generally pretty far left, isn't necessarily evidence of anything other than the typical discomfort of politicians regarding the actions of a powerful politician of opposing values. This is meaningless, even if it is true.
