While nearly 7 million jobs were disappearing during the 20 months of this recession, those same elites have incessantly called for more immigration to meet what they claimed was a U.S. "worker shortage!"

It will continue this way until large enough numbers of ordinary citizens start to demand that our government be first accountable to it's citizens. We are so busy trying to be compassionate to strangers that we're forgetting to take care of our own people. Take Shelbyville, Tennessee as an example.

Bedford County's unemployment rate dropped to 12.4 percent in July, according to preliminary figures released Thursday by the state's department of Labor and Workforce Development.


In June, the rate leapt 1.4 percentage points to 13 percent, but the new preliminary numbers for July means a drop of 0.6 percent for Bedford County.
Labor force estimates for the county showed a work force of 23,060 people, with 20,190 employed and a total of 2,870 out of work

This is the irony of the democrat party. While this administration & congress are all for "union" workers--they are also very friendly to illegals in this country. Nancy Pelosi has made San Francisco a safe haven for illegals---while they have drained California's treasury to know a 48 BILLION dollar deficit. California is still sending out IOU pay checks to state workers--business & individuals are leaving California in mass. The legislature can't seem to balance the budget even though California is one of the highest taxes states in the nation. All because of a big spending liberal agenda that has been in force in California for decades.

Then the Unions still don't get a clue. They still support the democrat party--knowing that democrats are the ones enabling illegals to take their jobs. It's frankly unbelievable.

our local hospital is building a multimillion dollar addition. I was on my way to pick up some prescriptions the other day, it was just at quitting time. a big white bus was loading the construction workers who were lined up neatly waiting to get on. Every single one of them looked to be latino.. and we have a 15% unemployment rate is some of our states.

the unions plan to incorporate the illegals into their unions, that's why they want the public option so badly so they can shift the cost of health care off the backs of the unions onto ours. make no mistake, the illegals are here cause the demoncwats want them here. that's why they refused to pass the Heller amendment.

My understanding is the type of jobs.

Many Americans simply won't put in the effort it takes to become a scientist or doctor. Come on, there is an entire political party that wants to replace science with voodoo.

A large percentage of the immigrants fill medical and fields of science with much needed talent.

Then there are the jobs Americans don't want to do because it's "too hard".
