I've been checking out some other message boards and one had this debate about strippers. One girl said she strips for a living and her bf has no problem with it.

I can believe that he has no problem with it. What I can't believe is that he truly respects her or cares for her at all. I would rather cut off my arm than see any woman i cared about whether: Girlfriend, sister, daughter, friend, etc making a living out of stripping or pornography or any other type of industry where she sells her body like that. It's degrading and any woman deserves better.

I can understand how the first reaction might be "Oh yeah take it off baby" but I know that wouldnt be a reaction out of love or respect, but rather self gratification.

So I am setting up a poll to see what everyone thinks.

It doesn't bother me at all.

I have two very good friends who helped make it through college by stripping. Beautiful, confident women who respected themselves and their bodies. It was a financial consideration, not something they grew up wanting to do or continued to after graduating. The danger is in the women who aren't strong and confident in themselves and who fall prey to the career strippers, the women who sell not only the sight of their bodies to men but their actual flesh and the sex acts that come with it.

If I had dated one of them (which with my less than stellar looks and height is a very dubious use of the imagination), it would nag at me a bit, but in the end, she's coming home to me and she's doing what she has to do to get her education and succeed in life. Considering one is a teacher and the other is a humanitarian aid specialist working for CENTCOM, I think they turned out all right, just like many of the other girls I know who were part-time strippers in Miami.

It is a complete degradation for a woman to strip. Telling herself that "she just has the confidence that others lack" is a sophistry. She is in fact whoring herself. What, those men watching her are just artistically admiring her body? PUH-LEEESE! They are horny, and she is increasing their horniness. It's SEX, whether she completes the act or not. Those men are having sex with her in their minds.

She can tell herself it's just a way to make money, that she is lucky that she's good-looking enough to be desirable as a stripper. But the men who watch her take it off aren't thinking "Boy, I really respect her mind." They see her as an object, one that gratifies their horniness.

What's more, it degrades ALL women. Men who get in the habit of watching anonymous women get naked on stage get used to being sexually gratified without having to "buy the cow." Why would they take the trouble of talking, caring, patiently arousing (yeah, women are crock pots) their sex partner if they can go down to the local Bouncing Boobs Bar and see a naked woman any time he wants? A woman already PAID to arouse him. No commitments, no strings, no "I'm not in the mood tonight." There is no give in that mentality. Men get used to thinking it should be all about their desires, and women who want more just aren't worth the trouble.

Which, by the way, degrades the men as well. Instead of being strong, honorable leaders, they are reduced to drooling testosterone junkies.

It's a males nature to "lust". He is hardwired to noticed attractive females. Females are fully aware of this and compete for males attention. If I had a significant other who stripped, I would wonder why she still feels the need to compete for other males attention and also wonder why she is so incompetant that she has to resort to taking advantage of mens' lust to survive.

I completely agree. private actions in a relationship im not critisizing. Do what you guys feel like doing.

I just think basically a woman selling her body is whoring herself out regardless of whether she sleeps with anyone.

In a way i think the tease might be worse. Because she can tease dozens of men at a time. cant sleep with that many men at the same time.
