Time for women to ante-up by being required to sign-up for selective service when they turn 18 years of age.

We need to get rid of the Selective Service altogether. It no longer serves a purpose.

Yeah, volunteers. But do you want "feminine" women drafted? Sure, draft the manly ones, the dykes, the ones who want to be men but most women don't want to be men and they would make lousy soldiers and can you imagine the death toll? That's just plain crazy.

Israel drafts both men and women and they have a bad ass army.

The United States would reinstitute the draft at the drop of a hat if it felt the need.

Tell that to the Israeli's...... Story time...

I had left the service and had been attending college for about a year a couple years when 9/11 happened. The US decided to declare a war on terror soon after. When that happened one of the female students of slightly over twenty years of age, who didn't like me because she lost to many arguments, approached me and told me bluntly in front of a couple of her friends that she hoped I was one of the first ones recalled. I looked right back at her and replied, " I've already done my duty for king and country for twenty years darlin' and it would take an act of God to have the US government recall me"... She didn't care (That's not what she said it was a lot cruder) ... My response to her elegance was... "Darlin' before they recall me I will be preaching the merits of the draft and how all women of eligible age need to be on it with no exemptions due to college, marital status, or having children." I also sited that Israel and a couple of European nations require the same of all their citizens... Her response was, "They can't do that I'm a woman!"... My response was, "I really don't care." They brought up the fact that they had children and I told them the US government could provide creche's for the children while they served. They ran off with their tails tucked between their legs and tended to not attempt to provoke my wraith after that incident.

Needless to say... I really don't care if they are men or women drafted and if they wish to resist the training once they are escorted to their respective boot camp they can stay in boot camp for the full two years if they like that kind of environment.

Hey! If they draft men and women I might even rejoin voluntarily so they can make me a drill instructor.
