With Deep Pockets, Socialist George Soros wants Democrats to dump Obama in 2012

WASHINGTON -- At a private meeting on Tuesday afternoon, George Soros, a longtime supporter of progressive causes, voiced blunt criticism of the Obama administration, going so far as to suggest that Democratic donors direct their support somewhere other than the president.

The Hungarian-American financier was speaking to a small side gathering of donors who had convened in Washington D.C. for the annual gathering of the Democracy Alliance -- a formal community of well-funded, progressive-minded individuals and activists.

According to multiple sources with knowledge of his remarks, Soros told those in attendance that he is "used to fighting losing battles but doesn't like to lose without fighting."

"We have just lost this election, we need to draw a line," he said, according to several Democratic sources. "And if this president can't do what we need, it is time to start looking somewhere else."

One of those "movement" ventures is an outside-government arm to match conservatives in the 2012 elections. For several weeks, discussions have been led by Media Matters for America founder David Brock about the need to create a group that will run advertisements, conduct opposition research and perform rapid response functions. Those talks continued this past week, though disputes have begun to emerge about the most effective role for such a far-Left political action group.

So now the right and George Soros are on the same team?

What irony!

Ummm, no. He wants a better progressive. We want no progressives. Not the same team at all. He may dislike Obama - we dislike progressive policies. We don't care about Obama. Idiot.

Aw Shucks!

If Soros says we gotta dump Obama, I guess we have to

Afterall, Glenn Beck says he runs the party and all

He didnt say dump Obama he said look to someone else to draw the line.

Someone else to head the message does not mean edging Obama out.

I really wish people would stick to the facts instead of reading what they want to hear into whatever happens.

I guess Barack Obama is no longer "socialist" enough for George Soros and the Huffington Post crowd! Has he been "corrupted" by the Military generals and the conservative Democrats?

Maybe you ought to take your own advice, because from the context in which the discussion was framed and with the text provided it sounds like he meant a different Dem leader in the WH.

The dems just got slaughtered and if they don't deal with that by changing their formula or their lineup it could happen again in 2012. Soros said as much.

If Obama isn't the man, find the man and back him.

George, Barry, Sarah, Hillary & Bill are all on the same side of this Record Gap:

"The income gap between rich and poor Americans grew to the widest amount on record and represents the greatest disparity among Western industrialized nations, according to U.S. Census data.

"The census finds that the top-earning 20% of Americans (those making $100,000 each year) received 49.4% of all income generated in the U.S., compared with the 3.4% earned by those below the poverty line.

"That ratio of 14.5-to-1 was an increase from 13.6 in 2008 and nearly double a low of 7.69 in 1968, the Associated Press report.

Anybody (else) remember 1968?
