Wisconsin Union membership plunges

Why wouldn't union membership decline after Walker made them powerless?

public unions don't pay for power, we the taxpayers do.. now go buy you another democrat why don't you? they couldn't even be bothered to come stand up for you..:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

Republicans say, "Prosperity though lower wages and no health or dental care".

I love how progressives believe non-progressives typically look like that.

Not to mention the link says Alexandra Pelosi.... Pretty ironic..

If you read the story that story was about welfare - Alexandra actually presented both black and white welfare recipients.... She even admitted that the network thought presenting the blacks who receive welfare (across the street from her apartment) wasn't "politically correct" yet presenting the whites were???

I remember she asked one dude in the video "why are you here" and his reply was: "imma get me some Obama money."

I'm not a big fan of her mother but I thought Alexandra did a fantastic and a fair job of exposing social welfare for what it is... If she is a progressive she is ok with me because she told the truth unlike the majority of progressive who just tell one side of the story or just lie.

In New York State Government, unions never have had much power.
Their Pension Fund is the best of any state.
State Pension Fund Posts Strong Gain

The New York State Common Retirement Fund (Fund) earned an estimated 5.96 percent rate of return for the state’s 2011–2012 fiscal year. The estimated value of the Fund is $150.3 billion, the highest since the global economic meltdown in state fiscal year 2008–2009. Comptroller DiNapoli said, “Over the last three years, the Fund has experienced strong gains during a period of economic instability. We remain one of strongest pension funds in the country, providing retirement security to more than one million New Yorkers.”
You left off the part where the pension fund, if it loses money; that by law, the taxpayers of New York State MUST make up for the losses in higher taxes.

Democrats are such f-ing stupid shitheads. Prosperity comes from productivity, not from artificial wages.

You do realize he did nothing to PRIVATE sector unions right? And WEAC and the public sector unions threw the private sector ones under the bus blocking the Gogebic Taconite mine in Northern WI for their Ecofascisti sympathies.

Remember that?

Free at last, free at last!!!!

Wisconsin membership in the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees--the state's second-largest public-sector union after the National Education Association, which represents teachers--fell to 28,745 in February from 62,818 in March 2011, according to a person who has viewed Afscme's figures.

A spokesman for Afscme declined to comment.

Much of that decline came from Afscme Council 24, which represents Wisconsin state workers, whose membership plunged by two-thirds to 7,100 from 22,300 last year.
The American Federation of Teachers reports it has lost 6,000 of 17,000 members. These losses can be expected to mount as existing contracts expire. Once that happens, as the Journal explains, under the Walker reforms the state stops withholding union dues from the employees paychecks unless the employee asks to pay them.'

The fact that the union still has any members at all is a testament to the leadership. Those people are still members even though the union can no longer perform it's core function.
