Governor Scott Walker
Wisconsin State Capitol

Dear Governor Walker,
I am informed that a tape recording has been released in which you apparently held an
extensive discussion with someone you believed to be your campaign supporter, David
Koch. The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel states that the caller was actually a reporter,
pretending to be David Koch, and it has posted a transcript of the recording. It appears
that you admit the call occurred, and have not contested the authenticity of transcript.
David Koch is the billionaire businessman who reportedly contributed thousands to your
campaign and who the media claims is a key source of funding for shadowy political
groups that spend hundreds of thousands of dollars attacking your political adversaries in
our state.
At a historic moment in our State’s history, brought on by your refusal to compromise
with elected officials regarding the elimination of worker’s rights, you still refuse to talk
with Democratic legislators. However, you apparently have no problem taking a phone
call from “Mr. Koch” and to:
• Discuss your strategy to lay off public workers to seek partisan advantage to pass
your agenda;
• Discuss your plan to lure Democratic legislators to the Capitol on the pretext of
negotiation, but then state that you would never actually negotiate;
• Discuss your plan to use the pretext of negotiation to get a quorum for legislative
fiscal action that Republicans so far have not been able to do;
• Discuss that you considered the “planting” of paid troublemakers into the
peaceful protests at our Capitol; and to
• Give your enthusiastic acceptance to an offer from “Koch” to fly you out on a
vacation to show you a “good time” once you “crush these bastards.” Your
response was “That would be outstanding…” Given that Koch’s businesses could
reap vast rewards with the ‘no bid’ sale of the Wisconsin’s power plants that you
propose in your budget repair bill, this response is severely troubling.

Governor Walker, this tape would make Richard Nixon blush. If the recording and the
items discussed by you are indeed your plans, you have no business being in public office
in our State, and should resign.

Sincerely,
Tim Carpenter
State Senator

Like ACORN, Walker needs to go. It is little details like this that can destroy a party or bring a governor to his knees. I expect Walker will first deny the charge, and when it is proven, he will have his attorney general bring fraud charges against the newspaper for misrepresenattion, and Crotch Bros. will file a law suit shutting the newspaper down. IMO

lol...one of the " Badger 14″ of the fleebaggers found time to become pen pals with the Gov.

Good for him

Nothing the governor has so far done has been illegal -- it is possible what he has considered doing could be. Most state ethic laws would not allow him a luxurious vacation on the Koch Brothers' dime whilst deciding if they should get a fat state contract -- but people are not usually guilty of breaking the law for bad thoughts. The contributions the Koch Brothers gave to his campaign are 100% legal under Citizens United.

Possibly the single worst SCOTUS decision ever made.

Still, revealing the close ties (though really, how close could Walker be with them if he can't recognize the Kochs' voices on the phone?) between the governor and the Billionaires From Hell will severely undercut his "I'm just worried about the deficit" stance in the eyes of the public, and if Walker cannot bring down the unions now, IMO, he is finished in politics.

Is Senator Carpenter more concerned about the majority of the people he represents or to the unions that keep him a float? The Senator has the ability to go on the Wisconsin Senate Floor and make the allegations but he chooses not do his elected job.

I'm sure he did "call" for Walker to resign...long distance...

Do you or he really believe we don't know what Walker really said? :doubt:

It's right over there in the sidebar from MSNBC ---------------------------->

.
.
.
.
At that point, Murphy posing as Koch says: “I tell you what Scott. Once you crush these bastards, I’ll fly you out to Cali and really show you a good time.”

“Allright, that would be outstanding," Walker replies. "Thanks for all the support and help ... moving the ball forward and we appreciate it. … We’re doing the just and right thing for the right reasons. Its all about getting our freedom back."

Murphy/Koch: “Absolutely, and you know, we have a little bit of vested interest as well” (he then laughs).

Walker: “That’s just it. The bottom line is were going to get the world moving here because it’s the right thing to do…Thanks a million.”

That couldn't have gone more wrong for the leftist, who's lines are in red.

Not even a good try.

Is this one of the pansy assed state senators of Wisconsin who currently resides in Illinois? If so he gets no say so. Gov. Walker should tell him to stfu.

Is Senator Carpenter more concerned about the majority of the people he represents or to the unions that keep him a float? The Senator has the ability to go on the Wisconsin Senate Floor and make the allegations but he chooses not do his elected job.

Carpenter is a Democrat, GopJack. His constituency expects him to support the unions, which last I heard still had the support of over 60% of Wisconsinites.

Massage it all you like, boys. This ain't good for Walker's "image".
yeah, and timmy running away and hiding and not doing the job he was elected to do is so good for HIS image
i hope the good voters of his senate district vote his sorry ass out

Might just want to check those numbers. I can tell you that the majority of the Wisconsin tax payers do not want to pay for all these union golden parachute programs these state and muny workers are getting

Walker's Issues:

"Milwaukee County Executive Scott Walker wants a 26% pay raise for his chief of staff, former Ald. Tom Nardelli, while bypassing traditional County Board approval in quietly issuing large pay raises over the summer to several other top aides.

"Nardelli would get the biggest pay increase of top-tier county officials, a nearly $20,000 raise to $95,000 a year. Seven county administrators also scored increases of up to 12.5%.

"Some supervisors are upset about being left out of the decision-making process for many of the raises and say Walker's timing couldn't be worse.

"Heavily rewarding a few top managers while Walker puts final touches on a 2009 budget that's expected to call for scores of layoffs of union workers sends a message of callous disregard, critics of the raises say."

Corporate whores like Walker exist to socialize cost through loss of jobs and bargaining rights and privatize profits for parasites like Charles and David.

Walker issues...
