It was down to the wire. Having secured two of the three seats needed to shift the State Senate to a democrat majority, Democrats were "this" close. At stake was what would have been a major feather in the cap for Dems--the unseating Alberta "Walker's" Darling. Her opponent, Sandy Pasch, who was very confident that she would win her challenge against Darling. Pasch took an early lead, to the pleasant surprise of her supporters in the crowd. With each blow by blow update of her lead over Darling, by MSNBCs Ed Shultz, the crowd erupted in exuberant cheers and applause.

Then it happened.

Ed Shultz lamented.."you can't make this stuff up", as the tide began to turn against Pasch. He was right. It all came down to the reporting of one county. Waukesha County. But, Waukesha county appeared to be "holding out" on reporting the election results. Commentator remarked that they were "suspicious", there were accusations being made of voter fraud by democrat leaders, it wasn't looking good for Dems. The Ed Shultz Show carried over through Lawrence O'Donnell, to Rachel Maddows, as the crowd anxiously awaited the final results. But by that time it had become clear that it just wasn't going to happen.

When the final announcement came the crowd was remarkably subdued. A sign read "this is what democracy looks like", and the crowd seemed to accept that democracy worked the way it's suppose to. "You win some we you some" that seemed to be the mood. But they got their shoot. Their voices were heard. They took on republicans in their own back yard. Two seats were gained in the effort. Which is nothing to be ashamed of. On to the next battle.

Nice spin....lol

Sure we lost 28-14, but we scored two touchdowns! Yay Team!

They stolled our precious!

I know. I should have been harder on Waukesha County

But there's no evidence of voter fraud.

So I was trying to be nice.

It is something to be ashamed of. Millions of dollars came from all over the nation for this recall. It was funded by unions. Shame on them for not accepting the outcome of the regular election.

Personally, I am glad all those dems wasted tens of millions on an election and still got their asses handed to them.

A few leftists have said this line; that Wisconsin is the Republican's backyard. That is absurd, simply not true. Wisconsin is a traditionally blue state.

The fact that the GOP secured the governorship and entire state legislator to begin with--in the Democrats own backyard--is a accomplishment.

The fact that they were able to repel a $35 million dollar assault is amazing. The goal of that $35 million was to retake the state senate--PERIOD. They failed at that goal.

Spin it however you'd like :eusa_hand:

The goal was no retake the Senate.

They failed to accomplish the goal they themselves set.

Sorry, no way to spin that into a win.

Never fear, I'm sure there are enough dimocrats left to make a run for the border next time there is a hard decision to be made. I love those runningfleabaggerdimocratsfromwisconsin.

I understand that one of the seats that they did win has been held by a republican for over 100 years.

Liberals are such good liars that they believe their own BULLSHIT!! LMAO LEFTISTS had their asses handed to them last night in Wisconsin.. DESPITE millions spent by the Union thugs, YOU LOST!! Hahahahahaha.. I laughed my pretty ass off this morning upon reading the news.. then I turned on Fox and Friends and watched wonderful conservative commentators do the same!! IT'S A GREAT DAY!

Yes Democracy worked. It's always a great day when that happens.
Only thing is, how much did the GOP spend. This will go down as the most expensive
recall election in history. And not just because of what Democrats spent. Also, you might want to keep in mind that organizations foundations were formed, alliances, and solidarity; all of which remain intact for the next battle. This isn't over. Not even close.

The day after Obamacare passed, how many righties started threads gloating that it "barely" passed? .....

You get the level of your stupidity now?....

Still two democrats to be recalled next tuesday. Pry won't hear a blip about it though. Why weren't they held all the same day?

The unions really really really wanted this one. They lost. Wisconsin public workers had plenty of out of state help,
Their effort FAILED.
Leave it to the libs to spin a loss into a win. Jerks.

How come you're not mentioning the amount of money the GOP spent?

And they've packed up and gone home, with their tail between their legs. They found out people DON'T care for their UNION THUGGERY after all.

But don't worry. Next is the dems recall elections, and the repubs could pick the two seats they lost last night back up and then some.
