Wisconsin: A real grass roots movement!

Those of us who have our doubts about the sincereity of the TP have them because everything thery are now complaining about could have been complained about when Bush II was in office, too.

Its the timing of this organization's complaints, and the people who are funding this organization that make it suspect as just an astroturf GOP tool.

Is that really all that difficult to figure out?

They were. That you didn't see it, does not mean they weren't there. And, most certainly, the movement grew enormously in the past two years.... but that is because of the explosion of federal spending, not the skin color of the POTUS. The only reason YOU believe that the protests are race based is because the media told you it is. The liberal media tells you what to think and you think it.

The liberal media spawned the TP?

that's a laugh CG

That's not what I said. Perhaps you could read what I said and not what you think I said.

Many of them were complaining when the Shrub was in office....They didn't get really tweaked until the bailouts, which didn't come until the end of his reign.

What's going on this week in Madison, WI is not AstroTurf, this is a real grass roots movement easily identified by one very obvious sign.

The signs are handmade by the people, not printed by corporate sponsors for events staged and carrried by people bussed in for a rally.

Was it supported by the unions?

Betcha the "teachers" who are illegally striking gave out extra credit to the cillins for painting their signs.

Since when has it been "illegal" to strike? The extra credit only went to the Retarded righty kids forced to draw signs or get their coward asses kicked in the bathroom.
It is basic socialist behavior. It is the teachers crying and denying kids an education, fire them all. Forcing anyone to write the signs for them is just proof of them being socialists. Lefty idiots.

A taxpayer-paid "sick-out", and useful idiot student props (not even educated as to why they are there) to make demands of a State deeply mired in debt is a lot of things: "Grass roots" does not exactly leap to the top of the list. Those kids could have used a little more class time don't ya think?

And what prey tell is that at the end of the video? Why it's professionally printed union shop signs. Quelle surprise!
They should arrest the teacher for what they are doing. If my kid went to school there they would not be out there protesting, and they would not go back either.

Seems rather funny to me that folks would be protesting about being asked to contribute to THEIR RETIRMENT and benefit programs.

I wonder if they would be out there protesting if the taxes were raised to the levels they are in Ill??

Or is having their retirement and benefits covered 100% by the taxpayers worth the higher taxes??

Of course the majority of the taxpayers would be getting hosed.

Collateral damage??

How do you know that's not the kid of one of the teachers Republicans want to screw over?
Idiot!

Well, if one reads the history of the struggles of workers for rights, you will see where the company goons routinely killed children. So why should not children take part in protecting the rights of Americas working citizens.
Link? Untill you come up with proof, don't make wild claims of companies killing children.

Here's something that cracks me up.

Union organized protest is call, grassroots movement.

Regular fold in Tea party protesting is call, astroturf.

And I guess black is really white and up is really down.

The general argument offered by the TP crowd on this thread is the protest in Wisconsin is organized by unions and not really a grass roots movement.

No evidence is offered to prove this hypothesis but a few mass produced sign and comments in the press from union organizers; There is no mention of any outside organizatons, such as Freedom Works or Americans for Prosperity, which funded, trained and publicized the events this week in Madison.
There is ample evidence for the non-willfully ignorant to prove Tea Party events were in fact funded by Freedom Works and Americans for Prosperity, and the money used by these organizations came from undisclosed donators - though the Koch Brothers were likely co-conspirators/contributors.

The questions are these: Why did the Republicans insist on continuing the Bush tax cuts if government debt is in crisis, and why do the Republicans want to take away income from working men and women whose spending keeps so many small business in the black and helps stimulate the economy?

WTF?
Do these teachers BELONG to a UNION, or not.

To answer your questions:

1) Republicans AND democrats wanted to continue the Bush tax cuts....but the democrats wanted to lift the cuts for the business owners...and seeing as we saw that the stimulus did little for employment, we certainly did not want to make a move that would prevent the alternative solution from happening.

2) Same reason why a business would want to take away from those that help them operate when they lay off. They have no choice if they want to stay in the black. And the small amount that they are asking the employees to sacrifice will likely not result in much of a decrease in spending

Exactly.
This may be a legit gripe by the state workers....although I see them as selfish seeing as they want lots of entitlements kept while their neighbors are struggling to find a job.....but to say it was a grass roots movement is rediculous.

B'loney.

The protests in WI are Organizing For America sponsored astroturf operations manned by typical Union Thugs.

If that's a grassroots movement, you're an intelligent erudite philosopher of great depth and wisdom.

All you have to do is watch the protests to know this is about as real as the turf at Camp Randall. The hyperbole is childish and purile. Their elitist belief they are entitled to be untouchable economically is blazingly apparent.

I do hope that their fake sick-out gives the governor the window to bust the union. Fuckers have been abusing their position for too damn long.

"Timmy, why are you out of school?"
"Because Missuz Sphincter says she needs to protest the governor for MY sake! But she gave us homework!"
"Oh? What's that Timmy?"
"I'm supposed to write a letter to my state senator, legislator and governor asking them why they hate children."

Compare and contrast the way the two protest. The Tea Party folks clean up after themselves. The Union Thugs leave garbage everywhere.

That about sums it up.

Well, at least one honest response, BF lays it out: Bust the Unions!.
