Can someone explain to me why it's ok for the taxpayers to foot the entire bill for the unions but now, since the state(s) are/are going broke it isn't ok for the unions to start contributing? On the local level (county) we are a closed shop. Everyone must pay dues, though those who choose can make a donation to a non-profit instead of making a dues payment to the union.
