Wind power generates 140% of Denmark's electricity demand
The Guardian - ‎Jul 10, 2015‎
“It shows that a world powered 100% by renewable energy is no fantasy,” said Oliver Joy, a spokesman for trade body the European Wind Energy Association. “Wind energy and renewables can be a solution to decarbonisation - and also security of supply at ...

Wow, so much for wind being a secondary source of energy!

They have those same turbines near Palm Springs in Ca. They do generate power and should build more but there's no money. No money to build desalination plants to deal with the drought either. Plenty for benefits for illegals and section 8 housing, food stamps and welfare though. I guess the hispanic vote is more important to the Democrats who run the state.

They export it to other countries ;)

I have a customer who has a solar setup. It makes the meter run backwards as it produces electricity. If it produces more than you use, the power company buys it back and you get a check each month. The only problem is that it costs $38,000 to buy the system. Fortunately, the previous owner paid it off before he bought the house so he made out on the deal pretty well. Instead of getting an electric bill, he gets a check.

Today, you can get a system that will do that for about 10 K. If you are not a klutz with two broken thumbs, you can install it your self, and save a chunk. Of course, being in one of the southern states, or an area with a lot of sunshine considerably helps.

Well, one would certainly think ones that in Europe. LOL

Yea OP I was reading that article earlier today and I don't get this.....

Interconnectors allowed 80% of the power surplus to be shared equally between Germany and Norway, which can store it in hydropower systems for use later.

How do they store wind power in hydropower for later use?

One would think you could name one country that this power was exported to.
