Dr. Lindzen was paid per day more than many scientists make a month by the Energy Corperations. He still recieves money from these sources, now through the tobacco companies, so Lindzen does not have to fess up to taking money for his lies.
Now if the observed warming was stated only by a few scientists from just one or two organizations, then the Denialists might have a case. However, the evidence and articles are coming from tens of thousands of scientists engaged in studies that involve the warming, directly or indirectly.
And this evidence is increasing countered by people that not only have no credentials in any field related to earth sciences, but also people that have been proven to be crackpots and liars in other fields. Heinz Lycklama is a prime example of that. As are the fools here that repeatedly use the OISM Petition, when that petition has been shown to be a clear fraud.
What is being done now by the Denialists, is the de-legitimization of science. Note the number of post here now stating that all scientists are liars, belong to an elite that never leaves their ivory towers to venture into the field. When there has been repeated posts here showing the scientists working in some very hostile conditions around the world to gather data.
The other step is to de-legitimize any government agency that reports real science. Claims that NOAA, NASA, and all the other government agencies are part of an international conspiracy. Yet totally ignore the international reach of the energy corperations that are paying for the misinformation, outright lies, and the denigration of the scientists that do honest work.
And we have the loons here that eat up the lies, ignore physics that has been proven for over 150 years because it does not fit their notion of 'the way things ought to be'.
