Will the Marlboro Man light up a joint soon?

The states of Washington and Colorado legalized possession of small amounts of marijuana in the November elections, but it is unclear if any cigarette makers plan to supply either market.

Marijuana remains illegal under federal law. President Barack Obama indicated last week that going after individual users won't be a priority, but there's no firm indication yet what action the Justice Department might take against states or businesses that participate in the nascent pot market, which has the potential to be large. For example analysts have estimated that a legal pot market could bring Washington state hundreds of millions of dollars a year in new tax revenue for schools, health care and basic government functions.

Soon the Marlboro man will be riding his horse with a joint hanging out of his mouth....:clap2:

I'll ask him. He lives just up the road in Hugo, OK.

Even though his tombstone is already in place at the Showman's Rest section of the Mt. Olivet Cemetery, he's very much alive, so far as I know.

I suppose they are the natural people to get into such a business but I would rather the eventual marketers be grower's co-ops rather than a pit of serpents like that. If they corner the market, before long Monsanto would be growing some kind of weird Frankinpot and suing small time growers into bankruptcy.

Marlboro Man hooks up with Cheesh and Chong.

I personally dread the day the marijuana market becomes corporatized and monopolized. It's a real golden age in the marijuana community and legalization while great for society will only serve to fuck up the options, variety and business potential for common people that's been around for about the last decade or so.

Not likely - just because they make a product of similar construction design doesn't make it a similar industry. Tobacco after all is in the business of selling death; why would they want to get into the business of selling dry-mouthed timestretch? Not really related, plus they have no credibility.
