Deputies: Thonotosassa man fatally beat neighbor with hammer

12/15/12

A man barricaded himself inside his mobile home in Thonotosassa for several hours this afternoon after Hillsborough County deputies say he beat his neighbor to death with a hammer.

About 1:45 pm, Jonathan Acree, 48, 3601 E. Fern St., Tampa, was standing in the front yard of a mobile home at 6427 Black Dairy Road, Lot No. 9, talking to a friend when Jarrett Brooks approached Acree from behind and struck him in the head and neck multiple times with a hammer, deputies said.

I gotta tell ya, with airtight arguments like this, it is a wonder why the liberals here even try to "debate" you guys. You are clearly advanced thinkers. Resistance is futile.

In a few weeks, we will have some laws concerning assault weopons. Or we will have the start of a major turnover in politicians in 2014.

The Second Amendment is the only thing standing in the was of Progressives filling their mass graves

Well, one has to considered the technology. Was it an Assault Hammer? Was it configured in a way to make assaults easier? Was that hammer fully automatic, semi-auto, or single shot? Please let us know. There are over 500 million hammers in America today and none of them are licensed.

Stephanie,
Truth be known. America has more restrictive gun laws than they have tax laws.
BTW, I've been told I'm you. I don't think so.

I think he used the claw to try and remove the head. It was a semi auto, as fast as you can swing...:D

So what is your advanced thinking here Lone? Do you really believe it's guns? Look at the evidence in China alone for the past two years: ( all different incidents of murder, most at schools)

If some crazy person wants to kill he or she will. They do not need guns, they will use bombs, hammers, knives, anything to accomplish their crazy mission.

When will we ban ‘assault knives’?

4/10/13

Dylan Quick, a 20-year-old student at Lone Star College in Houston, Texas went on a stabbing attack yesterday, wounding 14 people, two critically. TheBlaze has since reported that the student used a razor-type knife during the rampage, and piece of the blade was found in at least one victim. Broken blade pieces also were found in the area where the stabbing occurred, and the handle was discovered in Quick’s backpack.

Fortunately, there were no casualties, but the fact that Quick was able to stab 14 people (mostly in the face and neck) in several buildings before being apprehended is alarming. One of the students who was on campus during the stabbing gave a very candid interview following the incident in which he advocated for guns on campus:

VOICE: We wish we could protect ourselves with guns and stuff. We wish that the law would let us carry guns because we’re legal adults and carry guns on campus to protect ourselves. But so far all we have to rely on is on God. But we’d love to have God and the law on our side.

Oakland to ban hammers, wrenches, tripods, walking canes, shields and other 'tools of vandalism' in bizarre Orwellian disarmament push

Hammer-Wrench-Banned.jpg

(NaturalNews) Forget "gun control." That's old news. The city of Oakland, California now wants to ban any object that could be used as a "tool of vandalism," including hammers, wrenches, slingshots, shields and presumably anything else with a blunt edge such as garden rakes or sticks.

It's all part of Oakland's response to recent protests in which angry mobs of people caused significant damage to local businesses (because angry mobs tend to loot and burn their own neighborhoods first).

So the Oakland City Council is considering a proposed ordinance that would criminalize the possession of everyday objects, including objects of professional tradesmen such as hammers, large screwdrivers, walking canes and mechanic's tools.

The city claims these objects will be illegal to possess during a "protest," but a protest can be defined as any two people standing around, or walking down a street, or even just talking loudly. There is no official definition of a "protest," meaning the police can invoke the ordinance any time they wish. That's how these laws always go: they get interpreted and deployed far beyond their original intent.

Police need more tools, but tools of the people should be criminalized

In a local CBS story, Oakland Councilman Noel Gallo attempted to explain why he wanted to criminalize hammers by saying, "the Oakland Police Department needs additional tools to help protect life and property in our city." The word "tools" might have been a poor choice, of course, since the proposed ordinance would outlaw nearly all common tools include plumber's wrenches and even video tripods used by journalists.

While on the job a coupla days ago, I got clobbered by a hammer...

guy threw the thing up to his buddy in the roof... mis-threw the damn thing and it came down on my head...

's okay... I've got a hard head, as some in here will attest...

but I want laws in place so that if and when such things happen in the future, the police show up and immediately take the guy away in chains... :)
