Is there an official "tea Party" or are not all of these people they are pushing, just Republicans running, wolves in sheep's clothing?
There is no Tea Party majority....there is no Tea Party period, and I don't see the possibility of any of what they believe in, getting passed.....
good luck though!
Well in our local group there was probably a plurality of Republicans but I don't believe there was a majority of Republicans. Lots of Independents. Quite a few Democrats. And that's pretty much the story from others I've talked to across the nation.
They aren't wanting anything 'passed' so much as they are wanting stuff stopped. Stop the runaway growth of government. Stop irresponsible spending. Stop punative taxes that are stifling small business and killing jobs. Stop erosion of our freedoms, choices, opportunities. They believe, and I think correctly so, that to continue on the course we have been on is sheer insanity.
I'm guessing there isn't a strong party loyalist in the bunch. They don't give a flying fig what party is in power. They care about integrity of the system and policy endorsed. The only reason they are mostly backing Republicans at this time is because Republicans are the only ones who cared what they thought and/or agreed with them. The Democrats blew them off and continue to blow them off in the ugliest possible manner. And Republicans who didn't see it the Tea Party way haven't received their endorsement either.
