Will Obama Still be Blaming Bush 3 Years from now?

I voted for Obama, and think he's doing a better job than his predecessor, but the finger pointing routine is getting old.

Everything's always about the mess he inherited, not the flaws in his current plans to fix things. I don't remember Clinton running around talking about Bush Sr like this, maybe Hillary should challenge Obama in 2012. She's got more balls than he does.

bush 2...blamed it all on clinton....and carter..talk about reaching back in the time machine...they all do it....obama will blame bush 2....and the next person will blame obama....

Finger pointing is all partisans can do, it's all their minds allow them to do, it's always the other guy's fault no matter who it is. When we get a president who never mentions past presidents in office we will see real change, until then, they are just partisan freaks.

There is no way that Obama could win a second term. He'll be lucky if he finishes this one.

You guys said no way he would win last time and you were dead wrong. Who's gonna beat him? Have you seen your sides approval ratings? Dismal.

If Hill mounts a challenge, he'll likely lose his own party's nomination. Talk about making history! That would be the only way he keeps from getting re-elected.

Hillary will never be president. Hillary is a good old boy who won't fix anything because she's in bed with the lobbyists too.

Don't say so is Obama, because that would contradict your whole Obama's a socialist theory.

I'd love for you to find us even one example of either.... and link it here.

Good point. While there were many issues I had with President Bush, playing the blame game was not one of them. He or others in the administration would use illustrations from history, what worked, what didn't work, but accusing his predecessor of whatever problems he was having was not in his vocabulary even when there was major justification for doing that.

President Obama did not directly create the economic issues he inherited, but he pushed an unjustifiable mega hundreds of billions stimulus bill on the theory that we couldn't wait, we had to save jobs NOW, we had to get people back to work NOW. And since he hasn't created a single job other than 60,000 new government jobs more than six months into the effort, they now tell us that they never expected it to work this year and it won't really kick in until sometime next year??????? And that's all Bush's fault? Give me a break.

We were told that we have to pass Cap and Trade NOW lest our planet incinerate into a cremated cinder due to Bush's failed energy policies. Well Bush's energy policies left something to be desired, but BECAUSE he was addressing global warming, not because he wasn't. But somehow global warming is now Bush's fault.

We are told that we have to pass a multi-trillion dollar healthcare bill that will dismantle our existing system and institute total government control NOW or everything will come crashing down. Why? Because the Bush administration didn't do it. And we have to do it NOW despite the fact that more than 80% of Americans are happy with their healthcare and strong majority happy with the cost of their healthcare. The government already insures the poor and most of the estimated 47 million uninsured are only temporarily uninsured, are voluntarily uninsured, or are in the country illegally and NONE of these are denied emergency healthcare.

I don't fault those who like and admire President Obama. But gee whiz people. How gullible are we willing to be here?

Bush Jr. sure blamed Clinton a lot.

That's not my theory stupid. Your lazy, sloppy and intellectually challenged ass still tries to lump everyone in the same jar.

However, I can't see how even you, a committed faithful Obamaphile, can still be worshiping this cult figure considering the myriad of promises he's broken, including keeping lobbyists out of his administration.

Remember all the promises Obama made while running for the office? And since getting elected? The staggering number of broken promises is far too numerous to list and discuss here, but this is a start.

Ask the "Transparency" crowd who has seen Obama mirror the Bush arguments to keep documents sealed, and to keep enemy combatants incarcerated indefinitely without trial. See what Congress says, about Obama continuing to use "signing statements" on bills to circumvent the Legislative branch, something else he promised he would end from the Bush era.

Ask the Senior Citizens making under $50K who didn't get their income taxes ended as promised.

Of course, the lobbyists in his Administration that he swore to keep out probably won't want to discuss the matter, but I'll bet the gay community would be willing to discuss his support of the Defense of Marriage Act that he promised to repeal. Ask the unemployed how they feel about Obama's promise never delivered to create a $3,000 tax credit for jobs created, or how they still have to pay penalties for using their retirement accounts early just to get by despite his promise to the contrary.

And while we're on the subject, if you had tuned in to C-SPAN to see the health care debate negotiated there as Obama had promised, don't adjust your television set. It was another lie. And if you're expecting to see 5 days of public comment before the bill is signed, feel free to hold your breath. The Bills often don't receive enough comment time for the lack of oxygen to do any significant long term damage.

Yes, it would seem like absolute insanity for us to assume he would keep any promise. After all, even his promise to his kids to adopt a shelter dog went broken, resulting in Senator Kennedy having to purchase one for them from his breeder. Oh and, not a peep from PETA on that!

And there are many many more.

He's doing a great job. Patience my friend.

PS. Obama didn't fuck seniors. The GOP did. Their policies from the last 8 years are why seniors are getting fucked.

3 years from now either Amerikkastan will no longer exist or Osama will be job hunting and the Ron Paul revolution will take place.

I bet on the former...to the tune of over 2 million dollars.

First, the US government is so big, and huge and hard to turn, that this is always justified for a little while. I is hard to judge just when things can get turned around.

Liberals are still running against Herbert Hoover, and while goofy, it has resonance.

I don't remember Bush II going against Clinton much. There wasn't that much of a policy change. Or any real problem he could pin on him.

Carter ran against Nixon for the whole four years. I don't remember Reagan mentioning Carter as an excuse ever. I do, but I don't think Reagan did.

I do think it is valid to rate performance against promises that actually are going on. The bubble under bush was so big, so I think 0bama can run against Bush in 2012 no problem. However, 0bama did tell us that unemployment wold be under 8% if we passed stimulus. That hasn't happened. Unemployment is over 9%. We can judge on that.

0bama also promised transparency and honesty in administration. He promised better ethics. We can judge his performance on that one as well.

0bama also promised us better relations world wide. I personally think relations are worse, and scarier. At this point it is still a matter of YMMV, but I think international relations became 0bama's albatross on Jan 20.

I do agree with you that blaming the previous administration after say.... May 1st is not a good sign.

I certainly hope so. I would hate to find out that Obama is nothing more than an educated idiot.

Easy answer... If economy is still bad then yes, if economy is good then no.

Reagan, when asked by a reporter on live TV, "How much of the country's problems do you take personal responsibility for?" had the classic, all-time answer:

"All of them. I was once a Democrat."

Ron Paul got less than 1% of the vote.

How is his movement to abolish/audit the Fed doing? That's the one thing I like about the guy.

By the way, Ron Paul is the best proof that the GOP is corrupt as hell. How did they treat him during the debates when he said the truth about Iraq and the Federal Reserve? How did Glen Beck treat him when he interviewed him? Ron Paul won the debates and all of the sudden he was BANNED from future debates. Nice. Glad the Dems didn't do that to Obama.

Rudy, Mitt & McCain basically said Ron Paul was a crazy piece of shit. That's what the GOP thinks about Ron Paul. He should come over to our side. He'd be a really good centrist/blue dog dem. He goes on Air America and they seem to agree with a lot of the things he says. So does Bernie Sanders.

The Libertarian party is basically the party of disgruntled Republicans who have figured out that the GOP sucks.

Well you all voted for him......He lacks accountability.
