Will Obama be remembered as the worst potus in US history?

Not by me.

He'll have to go a long way to match the destruction wrought by Wilson, FDR or LBJ....But he is giving it the old college try.

Unlike many, I don't pretend that history started the day I was born.

I'll give you Wilson, FDR with caveats, LBJ? Not so much. Both FDR and LBJ did address some issues domestically that needed addressing, though neither personally bought into the rationales. Nope, I don't mean the "New Deal" stuff or "War on Poverty" stuff. I mean race and class issues. FDR also did some very shrewd moves on the foreign front, cutting off Japan's oil and steel not being one of them.

Hope not. My guess is the 2010 election might just save him from that dubious honor. That said, making GW Bush look downright reasonable takes a special kind of incompetence.

The things that FDR and LBJ did that weren't bad would have eventually been solved anyway and the damage they wrought were permanent. I'm with Oddball, Obama's not on that list yet. Obamacare makes him a worthy candidate to join them. But he's not there yet.

The problem with those three is they all led to the issues we have today. Wilson started us on the path of being policeman to the world. FDR created social security and put our path to socialism in warp drive and destroyed the supreme court as protectors of the constitution and made them the biggest threat to it. LBJ started using the military as foreign policy and greatly expanded the role of government in business. Buchannan and Hoover were terrible presidents, but their problems were overcome so they didn't have the lasting affect. But if Obamacare isn't repealed then Obama could rocket up the list. It gives government control over 20% of our economy and ownership of our bodies to the point Republicans can only dream of.

LBJ has the blood of more than 63,000 young American boys, and countless Vietnamese, on his hands...All killed on a pack of lies.

Yeah, that easily qualifies him as the worst president in my lifetime and one of the top (or bottom, such as it is) five in American history.

NO. probably in the top 15-20. I'd say up there with Washington, TJ, Jackson, FDR, Teddy R., JFK, maybe Reagan.

Spiteful teabaggers just can't let that happen though, can they. Obama will definitely be remembered as a hero. He enhanced our foreign policy, updated our health care system, and kill OBL.

Bush on the other hand......

Oh and Grampa Murked U, lighten up a bit. Even if you don't agree with him, can't you still respect him? Why? Because he is the leader of the greatest country on Earth, America. Its ok to share your opinion, but all you do is rant on and on about "Obama is a socialist, and a Muslim, and yadda yadda. If I could choke down 8 Bushy years, anything can happen.

Thomas Jefferson and Barack Obama have completely opposing ideology and policy. How you can put them both as top presidents either shows massive ignorance on understanding what one or both of the men believed, or your own inconsistency in economic and political philosophy.

Speaking for myself, no, I don't and can't respect him. He is a lying racist failure. I respect the office, but not the current occupant.

Seems to me he's everything everybody thinks he is.

It's about the issues of their times and the way they handled them, not just philosophies. I don't agree with all of Reagan's philosophies, but he did a good job handling things, both at home and abroad.

So one leads us to hell and the other to prosperity but because they are both great leaders it doesn't matter in what direction they take us? Mr. Owl, perhaps you do not realize this, but the two presidents pursued policies completely contrary to each other. Jefferson called for less government and Obama called for more. The ideas are not reconcilable.

And you're entitled to your opinion, no matter what it is. But GMU just constantly rants about Obama. It's almost depressing. :cuckoo:

I'll comeback when a credible explanation of this "hell" is achieved without use of the following words:
socialist
Muslim
debt ceiling
downgrade
racist
