Will Laissez Faire inevitably lead to Pinochetism?

I hear frequently that any all "socialism" inevitably leads to Leninism

Perhaps the inverse is also the case :eusa_eh:

Yeah right

a question can't be a lie. and given the negative example that history has given us, we ought to assume the same thing we do of Leninism, no?

Oh, I thought you said Pinocchioism. Nevermind

All socialism does not lead to communism. That's silly.

Even more nonsensical is all laissez faire leading to fascism.

Pinochet was not a true fascist, because even fascists provided a social safety net.

Pinochet's gov't was totalitarian capitalism. And if you think that the inevitability i mentioned is nonsensical, observe the pinochet-like tactics employed during the bush years. The use of torture--and even quasi-torture against American Citizens--the harsh repression of those assembled to petition the Government for a redress of grievances in St. Paul and even members of the press. We are on the verge of having Pinochetism as we speak :p

Many "Republicans" and "Tea-Party" types advocate for Laissez Faire, with their "Who is John Galt" signs and all that lunacy :p

Pull your pants up, your bias is showing. Don't rely on the opinions of others, go out and learn how to conduct your own survey and then do it. Otherwise you're just being told what to think.

Tea Partiers are NOT for Laissez Faire then?

No. Some may be, but not as a group (and it's hard to group Tea Partiers, they are pretty diverse in their opinions).

I didn't say "all," I said "many"

How do you it's "many", rather than merely what you've been exposed to by the media?

Your strawman has caught fire, Bubba.

so... if they are not believers in Laissez Faire, what are they believing in? Protectionism? Welfare-Statism? Laborism? please enlighten me as to these alternative Tea people :doubt:
