Will GOP be willing to PAY for cops in all schools? Tax money? Benefits?

So, I see the aftermath has drawn the lines between the left demanding new gun control laws, and the right saying "hogwash" and saying we need armed guards in schools.

So, will the GOP be willing to PAY for that, through more spending and taxing?

The GOP isn't asking for more cops in schools. what they are proposing is to allow teachers to get concealed carry permits and go to school armed. they might get a bonus for volunteering - something like $5000/yr.

You dont wanna trust THAT kind of job to a $10 an hour security guard carrying an old wheel gun revolver do ya?

No, of course not, our kids are worth more than that. They need a full time, fully trained certitfied police officer with tactical training, and the proper weapons to defend that school.

No they don't. You're just doing what you can to make the proposal as unpalatable as possible.

Let's stop buying everyone a cell phone and get some damn security.

That's quite possibly the dumbest thing you've ever written on here which is a hell of an accomplishment.

No, they're just fucking around. This is their check against the assault weapon ban. By obfuscating the issue with progressively bigger and more stupid ideas from both sides, eventually both sides will get frustrated and bored and move on to other things thereby ensuring nothing changes and no positives result from this tragedy.

Sad but true.

Did you not hear that gun nut nra guy?

Morons. Schools are governed locally. If the voters of the district want to pay for it, they will vote for it.

Shouldn't we mandate it at the federal level?

If protecting gun rights is important enough to be done at the federal level,

shouldn't protecting children's lives be important enough to be done at the federal level?
Fuck no. The feds fuck up pretty much everything.

Plus, idiot, it's a constitutional thing about states governing themselves.
Especially the military. Reighty?

SECURITY ...

(whether it be because of Islamic Terrorism or School Shootings or illegal aliens or the massive law enforcement build up resulting from the Reagan War on Drugs)

IS WHAT THE RIGHTWING SPENDS MONEY ON ...

Research the rhetorical elements of the War on Drugs, lead principally by Nancy Reagan. She was putting Washington in charge of saving our children from this evil weed. Ever since Reagan, children have been a focal point of the Washington Security State. Mothers Against Drunk Driving used the rhetorical and legal infrastructure of the Drug War, penetrating all 50 states with federally driven solutions. The states were not allowed to craft their own solutions based on their unique needs. Regan awarded to big government vast new powers to protect our children from drugs and drunk drivers and pedophiles and on and on.

Soccer Mom Nation became pure federalism, beefing up big government laws and surveillance - leaving the state authority to rot beneath protective wing of FEDERAL BUREAUCRACY.

("You can't fly if you're High")

The Left does the same thing with government, but they admit to loving government solutions - so you can see them coming.

Here is what I want to say to my friends on the Right.

I would love to live in a world where the precious brains of our precious children were not eaten-away by marijuana.

I would love to live in a world where our precious children were 100% safe 100% of the time.

I would love to live in a world where I could go on a plane or a NYC skyscraper without worrying about terrorists.

But here is what separates me from the Right.

I'm a realist. I don't think big government has the competence to save the world or make it safer - so I'm not going to give Washington more money to build me a utopia. Instead I'm going to be accountable for my own destiny. Rather than turning on FOX News and being manipulated by color coded terror warnings, I'm going to enjoy my life and decide which risks I will take. I don't need a nanny state to protect me. (Indeed, shame on my Rightwing friends who elected a president who gave big government the power to listen to our phone calls, track our purchases and library check-outs, and sift-through our internet behavior). Why does the Right always give big government more money to make us safer? Does the Right know how expensive the Reagan War on Drugs is? Do they know how many federal agencies have been created to conduct this war across 50 states? Or what about the most expensive, wasteful and invasive big government bureaucracy in history: the Bush department of Homeland Security.

I believe in letting free people vote with their feet. Meaning: If you think a school is not safe enough, than don't send your children there. If you're worried about a 1-&-billion chance that you are going to get hijacked, than don't fly. If you are worried about your children smoking pot, than take action inside your own family.

Why do I believe that people should be in charge of their own lives?

Because when you make government bigger, you are merely creating a more expensive surveillance state but you are not safer. In fact, by creating a larger SECURITY STATE, you become less safe because you now have to pay for an expensive big government security bureaucracy; meaning: you have less money to create your own solutions . Indeed (my dear, dear friends on the right): by creating a massive SECURITY bureaucracy, you are leaving our children and grandchildren a more expensive and less free America, and - therefore - you are increasing the likelihood that they will act out in all the ways that endanger security. This is why low-security nations like Denmark don't have this problem. Because they rejected the big government security state.

To all my friends on the right, I beg of you, read this article about what you have done by creating a national security state.

Click me to read about the dangers of rightwing bureaucracy.

To my friends on the right, I am now pleading with you. Please stop. We can no longer afford your fear. The world is a dangerous place. By empowering government to get rid of evil, you are merely creating a bigger and more expensive government.

Let the rest of us decide how we want to protect our families. Stop making government bigger.

We can no longer afford your fear or your trust in big government solutions.

Here..the City of North Charleston just announced they'd add 21 new cops STRICTLY for elementary schools, at a cost of about $1.5 million dollars. The GOP mayor said they'd get the funding through new taxes (The Post and Courier | Charleston SC, News, Sports, Entertainment).

Question is...will the rest of the GOP follow? Will the TEA PARTY be willing to spend more on government workers...aka cops...who need good pay, benefits, and GASP...maybe even an evil, wicked satanic PENSION!!!!!

Cant have it both ways GOP. Get rid of guns, or fund more cops. The choice is yours.
Better then the dimwits mandating healthcare for everyone and making hardworking Americans pay for the lazy ones under a socialist law.

They'll all lobby for a cop in every school.

Then....in 5 years when these incidents drop a lot due to those cops presence............the GOP will bitch about useless spending and benefits for those very same cops....er....I mean, evil govt workers.
Better to support a cop in every school then protect the so called rights of thugs like you idiot lefties do.

Are you willing to pay the price taking our guns will cost you in the next election?

We should train the administrators of each school in the use of fire arms, and they should be armed. Principals, assistant principals, counselors etc...why not? They are there anyway, and they are the authority in the school.

Teachers are not security guards, they are teachers. And our kids are not prisoners, but our future.
Yes we need changes, but it sounds to me that you are ok with taking away others rights so you can selfishly keep your assault weapon rights.

Protecting a thugs right to be stupid is better then protecting children's LIVES according to the idiot lefties.

Fuck no. The feds fuck up pretty much everything.

Plus, idiot, it's a constitutional thing about states governing themselves.

Then the 2nd amendment should be repealed and leave gun regulation up to the individual states,

if they can do it better.
