Yes, I know Romney has said he would, and he has said a lot of conflicting things, but let us look at the reality. Repealing the mandate would mean that insurance companies who he regards as needy people would lose out on customers that would be forced onto their system by the law. In other words the insurance companies would lose lots of money from this. Who feels companies deserve lots of money, and the rich guys should not have to pay their share? On top of that we already know that when the mandate issue was decided in MA under Romney's leadership he happily signed it into law.

We know Romney is a panderer whjo will say anything based on what he considers popular and who he is pandering at the moment to. Despite clearly claiming he was against mexican illegal immigrants he pretends he will make ways for mexicans to legally immigrate to this country when talking to hispanic groups. This is just one of his biggest areas where he blatantly panders and lies. Do you people really think Mitt is going to cut off billions of revenue from the insurance companies by allowing people to go without their products?

Mitt actually repealing the mandate does not fit within his actions of doing whatever he can to make money for the rich, and the rich are the insurance companies.

Would he repeal something he favored. First he said the individual mandate should be in the federal plan and now he says he would repeal it on day one.

Why would we question his word? His word has always been his bond. Right?

Bottom line is that no one can say with any confidence what Mitt Romney might say or do in any given moment.

He's not the first politician who would say anything to anybody if he thought he could get votes out of it. It just amazes me that we keep electing them.

Lie much?

He said the Federal government should incent people to purchase their own insurance, and then he gave examples of how they used incentives in Mass. which included the mandate.

Each and every time he as been asked directly if he thought the Federal government should require a person to purchase insurance, he said NO.

But you are a Leftist with a dog in the fight.

He's got lots of time to change his position between now and November. In fact, he's got lots of time to change it repeatedly.

He said he would do so on day one.

Wouldn't be a very good start not to do so, would it?

Freaking idiot.

The tea baggers promised "less spending!" "pro constitution!" then passed 858 billion in new spending by forcing through the Bush tax cuts to the rich extension as the first thing on the agenda.

The GOP idiots don't care what their elected officials do, they just like all lies they tell them.

He may have also said the things you say, but he ALSO said that the individual mandate SHOULD be included in the federal plan and applauded the administration for including it. Videos of the exchange are all over the internet.

here's a very unequivocal endorsement:

Reading is not easy for you, is it? Romney has said many conflicting things. He has also lied. He has tried to sue newspapers for telling the truth about his outsourcuing at bain and has told idiots like yourself that his sending jobs to china was not actually outsourcing, it was some other made up term.

So why is it that despite the fact Romney initiated the mandate and felt it was a great thing for massechusets is he going to actually follow through with his claims? He knows from the primaries that in his next election you will have to vote for him because the republicans will never run someone against an incumbent and you will have no choice even if he benefits his corporate friends in the insurance industry by allowing the mandate to stand. This is the guy who made the mandate, and you think he is actually going to repeal it when he faces no consequences for not doing it?

Who is the frigen idiot here?

What no one really seems to be talking about is how Romney may go about to repeal Obamacare. President Obama has set the precedent that the executive may pick and choose what laws will be enforced. Romney could simply not enforce the law, and ignore it--just like Obama has chosen to do with federal immigration laws.

Obama has set the precedent that we are no longer a nation governed by laws.

lie much, he initiated the mandate as governor. That is his baby you moron.

Will? Surely, you mean 'would'.... unless you have accepted that your messiah is goin' down.

it's not a "mandate" anymore.....it's a TAX....so since he took The Pledge i would think yes....

It doesn't matter what you call it, he has already endorsed it and put it into place on the state level. Aside from a bullshit pandering pledge he can easily forget because there is no wayu if he wins the presidency that the republicans will run someone against him, and those are the only people that pledge was for anyway. That pledge is not a legally binding contract, it is just another bullshit statement from the guy who has taken whatever side of an issue the people who he is talking to take. You are a gullible fuck if you think that pledge is anything more than political bullshit.

Why is the man who said corporations are people going to screw over the corporations who are paying for his campaign? Why is the man who said the mandate was important, and who actually implemented it going to screw over his money and remove it?

Give us a real reason.

Well what Romney needs to do is tell us exactly what he would do instead. Neither candidate will approach how they are going to severely cut health care costs. Herein lies the problem. They are both given to big corporations. The bottom line is the dollar. Not the health care. Capitalism can be very sick and twisted. But thats the way it is. Goes with the system.

I'm not going to engage in speculation. The fact is not repealing Obamacare would be political suicide.

What you are doing is rehashing an issue that was addressed countless, literally hundreds, of times during the primary. Romney has answered those questions countless, literally hundreds, of times.

Because you weren't paying attention is no reason why we have to hold your hand and walk you through it.

He said he would do so on day one.

Freaking idiot.

No, he won't repeal the health care act.

And, don't believe the freaking idiots here who tell you otherwise because they don't have the foggiest idea of how their own government works. If they did, they would know that all the screeching from the right is nothing but political theater designed to get freaking idiot rw nutters to vote for them.

If you doubt this, ask some freaking idiot, like, oh, say, Sniper Fire, EXACTLY how he will accomplish what he promises.

Don't be surprised if said freaking idiot doesn't answer your question.

What stops a Romney administration go about repealing Obamacare by simply ignoring it and instructing federal officials to not enforce the law?

Is that not exactly what Obama is doing to federal immigration laws?

Well, first off if it is a tax, it is the IRS whop will enforce it. Believe me they like their money. You really think the IRS is going to short their own budget? Anyway that aside, why would he do such a thing. Use that blob of goo in your skull and think about what you are claiming he will do.

You are saying that Mitt romney, the rich corporate fanboy, is going to tell the insurance companies he is not going to attempt to force people to buy their products and ignore the tax? This is the best friend of rich corporate stooges at the insurance companies, and out of the whole law he is going to just ignore the part that makes them money? I could see if you tried to claim he might try to ignore forcing them to take pre-existing conditions, or abide by some of the other laws which they dislike, but the mandate is something the insurance companies love. Government vouchers for their product for poor people is somethingt hat will make them billions. Why would Mr. Corporations are people too screw over his biggest campaign contributors and the biggest republican party contributors?

Please one of you twits give me a real reason he is going to do this.

Again, what prevents a Romney administration from ignoring and not enforcing the Obama Care law? Exactly like your savior is doing with federal immigration laws?
