He's in the Army now - JSOnline

So I'm sitting here in the computer lab, looking at today's news when I see this news article. It will be my only post here today, but I felt it needed to be shared.

We have long been past this point but now more than ever this drives reality home. The fact that people have to enlist so their spouses can have coverage for cancer is a sad thing. I'm sure the man loves his country.

A daughter will now be without her father over the next four years because of this. Sure, when people join the Military this happens all the time, however there is a difference between this and wanting to from the bottom of your heart.

This is only another example of why we need real change in Health Care in this country. Not in 2013, not in 2012, not next year, not next week, but now. Time is of the essence. I could only wish that those in Washington would see that. Otherwise, people die daily when their lives could of been saved if not for the playing of politics.

Even though you're on iggy I couldn't help myself. It's like watching a train wreck.

What a tear-jerker story with an appropriately inane moral: pass health care reform or dad will have to abandon the family for the military.
There are of course hundreds of different things he could have done.
Anyone who reads this and thinks "yeah we need Obama care" is functioning on emotion, not thought. Of course that's like 90% of Dumocrats anyway.

His LOYALTY? He had no intention of joining the military, and simply did force someone to give him something. That is NOT a reason to join.

I take consolation in the knowledge that this soldier's wife will receive quality care.

I take consolation in the knowledge that no opponent of health insurance reform has ever offered an even remote corrective in place of what is coming down the road.

I take consolation in the knowledge that by the time this soldier comes home (safely, I pray!) for the final time, health insurance reform will be the law of the land and those who most need it will have it.

It's Jake, King of the Unsubstantiated Statement.

Of course the GOP has a plan. Conservatives have many ideas, all of them proven and workable.
Obamacare would likely have made this woman wait for 6 months before getting proper diagnostic testing.

The plan is to say the cons have a plan. They have no plan. The military medical system will take care of the wife. That is part of the social compact and enlistment reciprocity and obligation.
