Threats are no good no matter what side. What is lost is most of the demonstrators were teachers, firemen, policemen. My daughter was down there protesting. She is a teacher. She is fighting for her livelihood. What is she supposed to do, thank the legislators for kicking her in the teeth? She saw thousands of policemen and firemen carrying anti walker signs. They are the hard working thugs that idiots and hateful stupid ignorant people have made the enemy. The state is clearly divided and the vitriol is at an all time high. Perhaps it's good for the state to pit person against person. I told her not to back down and do not let the anger die out...keep it in her heart and boycott those businesses she knows supported the governor. Only the proper thing to do.

It does make a lot of sense to not want to pay a small percentage of your pay for health care and retirement, like most folks in the private sector have to do. Especially when the option is several thousand of your fellow teachers can be fired to make up for the shortfall in state revenue.

They had conceded the money. It could have ended there. Instead, they took away the collective bargaining rights too. What was the point? He got what he wanted, it wasnt enough. The fake phone call from the so called koch brother was a real eye opener. He was out to stick it to the teachers. Now he will go after the firemen and police whom he said he wouldnt touch as they were his political donors. It could have been done differently. Rookie at work. What makes people think that everyone in the tea party is rich? And the tea party is not " rallying for the wealthy". They are for lowering the debt and taxes. I agree with them lowering the debt. I'm not so sure they can do both right now.

But Unions have been known as thugs for as long as I can remember. Like when I was 10 and the car salesmen went on strike where my father worked as a mechanic. they tried to prevent him from crossing the picket lines to get his tools so he could work at home. One of them came over to the car and told him no mother fucker was crossing the God Damned picket lines for shit. You simply didn't cuss in front of my Dad's kids. There was 2 of us in the car to help load up his tools. When he finished with the guy they decided the best course of action was to get out of his way and call him sir.....

I understand there are some bad people in unions. But there are alot, the majority, the vast majority, are good hard working people. There will always be some bad apples. But I dont think my daughter(kindergarten teacher) for 6 years, is a thug. She works hard despite how poor of a job american parents nowadays do.

There were 90 matters, a dozen have been turned over to the authorities. Only 78 were made public.

Assistant Attorney General Kevin Potter said that about a dozen of the 90 matters referred to authorities remain open with the Division of Criminal Investigation, but the 'vast majority" were found to present no "viable threat."

You can bet the 12 were more serious threats were on Republicans, like this one:

One woman was charged after admitting she sent a threatening email to several Republican lawmakers.

Katherine R. Windels, 26, of Cross Plains was charged with two misdemeanor counts of allegedly making threats over a computer and two felony counts of allegedly making bomb threats.

In April, she pled "Not Guilty" to the two misdemeanor counts, but has never been arrested. The email she admitted sending to Republicans read:

Yes, they are all thugs, especially the teachers. Furthermore, they don't educate our kids. They just us em as hostages.

Protesting doesn't make you a thug. Using government force to extort money from your employer is what makes you a thug.

Not all of the threats came from random union protesters. One was an officer working with the Department of Corrections:

The records indicate, however, that a 37-year-old state Department of Corrections officer assigned to Milwaukee was arrested on charges of disorderly conduct alleging a verbal threat to shoot Walker in March. It does not appear from state court records that he was ever formally charged.

A department spokeswoman said "the appropriate action" was taken, but the man remains employed.

Gee, it seems they could not fire the loon. He was Union.

A suspect in Maine was arrested after sending letters to that state's Republican U.S. senators suggesting that Walker should be killed and that all Republican governors resign.

Some were found to have mental problems, like a California man who was deemed "mentally challenged" by federal officers after sending a lengthy email offering a $50,000 bounty on Governor Walker. A schizophrenic woman threatening to kill the Governor was "transported to a secure treatment facility in Oconomowoc," according to the Journal Sentinel.

It seems the threats against Dems looked more like this:

One emailer said he hoped the 14 Democratic state senators who fled to Illinois would die in car wrecks coming back. Another told one of the 14, "YOU WILL GET YOURS ON JUDGEMENT DAY!!!!"

No calls for physical assults on Dems that I have seen.
