This was posted on an e-mail I got today. I'm not sure if the actual "story" was true. But apparently a Florida school teacher ran into an immigrant worker from the Dominican Republic (not a citizen) who was going to college. She was recieiving a Pell Grant (Free Money--don't have to pay back) and actually had Pell Grant money left to spare. She was receiving free housing and the grant paid for everything else. The teacher asked her when she planned on becoming a citizen. The girl told her she was not becoming a citizen, but going back to the Dominican Republic when she was done.....

If it's true, it really makes me mad.

Why do you even open unsolicited emails? I never do. I get tons from Nigeria asking for me to help them cash a check lol. You would have to be a fool to fall for that scam.

Ravi is right most unsolicited emails are BS, and possibly dangerous.

Yes, probably made up. Anyone who has tried for money for their children for college knows it is very difficult to get any. What is more surprising about this stuff is how immigration has recently contributed to hate groups in the US. It is the leading cause of their additional recruits and growth. You can see just how you were affected.

Wow...you guys really don't give me any credit do you?

Quote from my OP.

"If it's true, it really makes me mad."

The point of the OP was to find out if anyone else had heard things similar to this and/or whether or not it was true. I didn't expect a barrage of postings pointing out my stupidity for openning unsolicited e-mails. I am smart enough not to post about viagra being cheaper in Canada.

This also wasn't an unsolicited e-mail...it was e-mailed to me by a friend....(maybe he openned an unsolicited e-mail--who knows.).

My point is, has anyone else ever heard of programs like these? The website I posted most definately doesn't seem to be false....

If you don't KNOW that it's true, and if you KNOW it's coming from a completly incredible source, then why do you post this nonsense?

If it's TRUE you'd not doing it to stir the anti-immigrant stew, we can't tell.

First off, I never claimed it was true editec. I posted to see if others had heard things LIKE this. Any other stories similar to this? Anything from personal experience? It was intened to start a decent conversation, however, I see everyone had their cheerios pissed in this morning, and a turd sandwhich for lunch. Damn, I'm going to quit posting today, until you guys take some chill pills :chillpill::meow:

I'm sorry.

I didn't mean to come down on you like a ton of bricks.

1500 lbs was the max weight I was seeking.

We still love you, man.

My cheerios weren't pissed in, but my 11 month old son pissed on his cheerios a few weeks ago. I've also been up to my neck in turds since he was born. I know I've given you a hard time here and there since then, but I can assure you it had nothing to do with cheerios or turds.

Would the Southern Poverty Law Center consider "La Raza" a hate group?

You're only a hae group if you "hate" minorities. So, La Raza is considered okay, even though they want to wipe out Americans and "return" the Southwest to Mexico.
