Why?

Bareass, the details are;

Suck it up, buddy, you lost. And we have in place the means to make you wish that you were not the obstructionist assholes that you have been. So let the game roll on. Ball is in your court. Play or lose.

^ More of "No Substance Pebbles" bitching again. Pull up your skirt and shut up. You have nothing to add.

He's like a little child, "you lost" nah nah nah nah nah nah". Dope!

Boehner is playing a game of "You go first" with the president

Obama has been there, done that and he is not going that path again

Fact is, Obama does not have to go first. The tax increases and spending cuts are in place. Let the House do its job and come up with a bipartisan plan

Presidents traditionally lead. It's their job. Obama, not so much.

Keeping it simple. When Romney was running for President he was constantly hounded for the "details" on his policies/plans.

Why is it when Boehner says he will agree to tax revenue increases with cuts, Obama gets a pass when Boehner adds ..if the president will detail what and where he will make cuts?

So Republicans need to be specific but Democrats do not.

Because Boenher isn't in a position to negotiate.

He already AGREED to tax increases. They are going to happen, regardless.

If he were smart, he'd just agree to a number, and then make the president come up with specifics later, and take the heat for them.

Not in a position to negotiate? Last time I checked, Obama wants to retain the BUSH tax cuts for the folks that liberals have tirelessly argued didn't benefit from them. I know, it makes my head hurt too. Boehner simply can let it ride and deny Obama what he wants. That is leverage. The democrats have a history of extracting tax increases out of republicans on the promise of future cuts that never materialize after the fact. If Obama wants his tax increase, he needs to specify in detail how he actually intends to cut spending. It's called negotiating. Obama likes to dictate instead.

Lost what? I don't think he lost anything....

Or do you mean that because democrats won the white house the republicans should just do whatever the democrats want? News flash, if that is what winning means, then you lost as well because the house did not go blue. A unified government is never a good thing by the way.

As for the OP, you are correct. The left expects details from the right but Obama gets a pass. They dont want details from him because whatever he is going to do will be right.

BUT

The right expects details from the left but Romney (or Boehner for that matter) gets a pass. They don't want details from him because whatever he is going to do will be right.

You see, details are never provided by either side because the wing nuts on both sides are going to support 'their' candidate regardless and details are only interesting for the opposition. That interest mainly stems on the fact that some such number will be relentlessly attacked over and over again or some small fact will be taken out of context and presented as a lie. It might be a lie or it might not. Truth is not the point, just how easily it can be attacked.

You see this as the same exact people that demanded Obama's school records were silent on Romney's tax records and vice versa.

Why don't politicians EVER supply specifics? They are not idiots as much as we like to think the opposition is. These are some extremely intelligent people. They don't supply those numbers because the vast majority of people don't actually want them. That is a plain fact. If it were not then those numbers certainly would be made available and those coming up with them would win elections. Sadly, reality shows us that people don't want real facts. They want to be led like sheep.

Really? So how is he leading on a balanced plan that includes detailed spending cuts to get us out of this fiscal mess? Inquiring minds want to know his plan. I'm sure you can link to it somewhere.

First of all...It is a responsibility of Congress to come up with a spending plan acceptable to the President

Secondly, Obama has been through this before where he negotiates with himself when dealing with Republicans. Obama puts out a proposed plan that represents a middle ground and then has to negotiate off his own plan downaward

Obama holds the cards now. He was recently reelected by a wide margin, his popularity is going upwards while GOP popularity is tanking, Americans are screaming for compromise. America wants taxes to be increased on the wealthy. Obama has already offered to preserve tax rates for 98% of Americans and Republicans are holding it up

Most importantly, if Obama does nothing he gets his tax increases on the wealthy and Republicans are forced to negotiate upwards

As usual, you're wrong. They negotiated to the point where they were almost in agreement and then Obama demanded more. But with the support of the media, the Republicans will get the blame.....even with Obama holding the smoking gun in his hand.

Oh no......it couldn't be the BUSH tax cuts. Those only benefitted the richest 2% of Americans. The average Joe was taking it in the keester with the Bush tax cuts. Don't you remember?

your question is moot by the fact Boehner has not detailed his own source for "increased revenue" -

and that those will be included by the Administration separately along with with the tax rate increase Boehner already has agreed to.

Tax increases first. Then the cuts can be discussed.

Tax increases first.

Boehner knows that's the deal, and he is trying to shuck and jive his way out of it. The people re-elected Obama based on him raising taxes on the top 2 percent. Boehner knows this, the American people know this.

Tax increases first.

Obama has caved on the tax increases ever since taking office.

No more.

Tax increases first.

going over the cliff is what Boehner fears the most ... and gives the reigns of gov't to the Obama Administration for the next 4 years.

It's a show for the rubes, with each contestant using the media to spin the argument their way.

Neither tax cuts nor tax increases will solve the actual fiscal problems we have. This entire debate is built on a massive false fricking premise.

The rhetoric from both parties is all complete bullshit. They are both taking the piss on the rest of us.

Any idea what has happened in the past when democrats demanded tax increases with a promise of spending cuts to follow? They never happened. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Something has to be offered from both sides and an agreement reached. If Obama keeps up the "I won" attitude and thinks he can dicatate the terms, he's going to end up with a tax increase on 100% of Americans.
