I have to disagree with your basic premise about Obama.
He is merely doing as Bush did. Promoting business growth to grow the economy and raising prices is how it is done in a consumer spending driven economy.
Unfortunately that is a short sighted view destined to make things worse since wages are not rising in a matching fashion.

I am in no way defending Obama I think that he and those who run this country are on the wrong path and most people are being sucked right along with them in a fat dumb and happy manner.

Obama's interest in Bankrupting Our Nation, is that He want's us on an even playing field with The Third World. He want's this with Energy, Military Strength, and Industry. Obama thinks that Our Quality of Life is too high. He is on a Mission.

Because Obama is of the mindset that higher energy prices means he can spend more government money on failed alternatives so his campaign contributers can suck more money out of the people with little results.

On a market principle, he isnt necessarily wrong. Higher prices would encourage alternative sources, not because they've become viable or cheaper, but because they've driven the costs up.

Personally, Id rather have cheap energy than see my rates necessarily skyrocket.

Then the question that sticks out is why gas prices plummeted after W ended the moratorium on drilling if Presidents have little to do with it.

What Obama has done since taking office is agressively promote an anti-fossil fuel - pro-green energy agenda that sought to drive up the cost of gas and electricity produced by fossil fuels to the point where green energy alternatives were economically viable.

What he is doing in the last eight months before an election is POSTURING that he isn't in favor of higher gas and electricity costs. If he didn't have the main stream media in his back pocket he would get blown out of the water with such a transparent manuever (did anyone REALLY buy Stephen Chu's sudden change of heart about what the price of gas should be when he spoke to the Senate last week? Come on...) but he thinks he can get away with it because he's gotten away with it in the past.

Just remember one thing, Kiddies...if you vote for Barry next November...you are voting for higher gas and electricity prices. Obama is just allowing the Keystone Pipeline to be built from Cushing, Oklahoma to the Gulf of Mexico because Canada's Enbridge outsmarted him buy buying up ConocoPhillip's stake in the Seaway Pipeline. Enbridge is turning around all the pumps along the Seaway Pipeline to reverse the flow of oil. This will make it transport oil from Cushing, Oklahoma to the Gulf of Mexico the same way as the Keystone Pipeline would. Obama is making a lot of hey out of the fact that he is not stopping this portion of the pipeline. It is al political BS.
