Above all else, he stands for liberty.

That includes the liberty to decide what's best for yourself, not government. You know, a CONSERVATIVE idea?

I don't want a government telling me what I can and can't put into my own body. There are PLENTY of ways to regulate drugs and maintain a manner of safety within the population without them having to be illegal.

What ever happened to the idea that we should be free to make our own decisions and live with the consequences? Why does that somehow stop at drug use? It's ok for me to risk my entire life savings into starting a business that may fail and render me poor and homeless, but not ok for me to risk using drugs? Either could have disastrous consequences, or have no negative consequences at all.

Ron Paul is despised by many in both Parties. And that's very dangerous. Very powerful Socialists/Progressives & Neocons will work together to destroy him. That's just inevitable. And the MSM will go along because they're controlled by those same very powerful forces. They like things just the way they are. That's why i always say there is no difference between Socialists/Progressives & Neocons. They just take you to the same place in the end. Their all Big Government Globalists. I really like his ideas but where the principles come in is that I trust him to do as he says he will, if he gets in office. You can say what you want about him but you know where he stands and that he always sticks to his positions. If he were elected you could predict what he would do because it would be as he said he would do. Can you say the same about Newt or Romney?
