Why we need smart and educated leaders.

Bush's tax cuts needed to expire, destroyed the middle class, destroyed the USA and were evil

Obama extended the tax cuts for billioanires, cost the US trillions, cost the middle class, the poor, education, increased the burden on old people, which killed wet golden retriever puppies and therefore is evil as well

Try to stay up

Id love to know how letting people keep more of their money destroyed the middle class.

And no, Obama didn't cut taxes. They maintained the current rates. That's not a cut. That just keeps the Status Quo.

Now if we could see some real tax cuts and some real spending cuts we would see this economy explode.

Giving the rich a free ride(Bush tax cuts) put more of a burden on the middle class and Obama did give tax cuts to the middle class in his economic stimulis bill.

With regard to education – the problem is you’ve got right wing extremists who see this as just another commodity to be bought and sold in the ‘free market.’ If you can’t afford an education, say conservatives, screw you.

It’s moronic dogma such as this which is ruining the Nation.

We need smart and educated leaders, indeed.

If you can't afford education??? You can educate yourself for absolutely free if you have the desire to.

See we have a place called the library. You can get a card there that will allow you to take out books for a period of time so you can study and read any subject you want. And the best part is its absolutely FREE!

You can also go online and research any subject known to man for the price of a computer and an internet service.

Amazing what you can do nowadays. But I suppose by education you mean the piece of paper that says you've graduated from some school, then you're right it costs money to get those pieces of paper.

I haven't been burdened at all because the government took the same amount of money from others as they have for the past decade.

Nor did I recieve a single tax cuts in the economic stimulus bill. And shockingly, him handing out money to his campaign donors didn't stimulate the economy.

Bush is an idiot regaurdless of his policies .His bad policies made him the worst president.

He's an idiot because he doesn't agree with you. I love the way you guys think. So condescending and arrogant. And you don't see why people don't get along with you very much.

Also, Bush was hardly the worst President ever. I think that single honor resides with James Buchannan who, not only sent an army after to put down a nonexistant rebellion, but also, sat and did nothing while the nation desolved into civil war and a real rebellion occurred.

Now, I know you probably have no idea who James Buchannan was. (I'm not expecting you to be knowledgible about history). But it really is silly to proclaim Bush the worst President ever when we have had a pretty good run of prosperity and safety during his presidency. Was he the greatest? No. Was he the worst? No. He'll probably go down at relatively average, which is a shame because he had alot of potential but just made some very poor choices amongst his good ones.

During the campaign, the independent Tax Policy Center researched how Obama's tax proposals would affect workers. It concluded 94.3 percent of workers would receive a tax cut under Obama's plan based on the tax credit to offset payroll taxes. According to the analysis, the people who wouldn't get a tax cut are those who make more than $250,000 for couples or $200,000 for a single person. Obama said he intended to raise taxes on those high earners, a promise he reiterated during the State of the Union, and that revenue would offset the stimulus tax cut.

PolitiFact | Tax cut for 95 percent? The stimulus made it so

1. Economics: The US has to compete with the rest of the world. No way around it. We need leaders who are thoughtful and able to negotiate deals and treaties that are good for the country. Many times, they are negotiating with the best minds the other country has to offer.

What makes you think the president actually negotiates treaties with the leaders of other countries. Most of the time those agreements are ironed out by flunkies who are career diplomats. those people tend not to be the best and the brightest.

2. Military: The US was attacked on 9/11. It took less than a few dozen people to get the man behind that attack. Far fewer than the many, many tens of thousands who died and were crippled from attacking two countries and not getting Bin Laden.

It took hundreds of thousands of man hours and the combined work of hundreds of people over a period of 10 years to get bin Laden. Anyone who does not understand that is not qualified to be a dog catcher, must less president of the United States.

3. Science and Technology: We need leaders who will promote science and technology. Without those, no one anywhere could possibly say we would be "world leaders"?

I agree. Anyone who rejects the idea of going back to the moon because we have already been there should never be allowed to make any decisions about science.

4. America's infra structure: Almost 70,000 bridges and overpasses in America are in need of serious maintenance or they could become dangerous according to a report released Wednesday by Transportation for America. And that's just bridges.
Report: One in Nine Bridges in America “Structurally Deficient, Potentially Dangerous” | Transportation Nation

Why does it take a smart leader to deal with this? All it takes is a good engineer and Congress to stop using gas taxes to support high speed rail.

5. Health Care: The CEO of United Health received $744,232,068.00 in stock options. Separate from his regular salary of many millions. The number one cause of bankruptcies is "medical bills". We need leaders who will fight these companies.

Medical bills are not the primary cause of bankruptcy.

6. The Middle Class: We need leaders who are on the side of the Middle Class.

Which is another reason not to trust Democrats If they were really on the side of the middle class they would be fighting to reduce the deficit because every economist in the world know the only way to pay for their agenda is to raise taxes on the middle class.

You made some good points here, but you never actually addressed why we need intelligent people to step up and take the lead. The simple fact is that no single person understands enough to deal with the major problems we have, and that the only way to deal with them is to find the people that have the answers and get out of their way.

And naturally, these leaders will all be liberals, just like you. What's really funnny, is that you haven't the slightest idea what leadership is; but then, you have about as much real "leadership experience" as that Harvard lawyer and "community organizer" your side put in the White House. I wouldn't trust you or him to lead so much as a troop of Girls Scouts on a day hike. What the hell do either you or that self-serving, egotistical megalomaniac know about leadership? I've actually been a leader, and I know one, when I see one. You, and your Anointed One, don't begin to qualify!

How is that the problem with education? Education has been socialist for decades and has steadily been getting worse., yet you want to blame something that has nothing to do with it. How does that work in the real world?

Smart and educated?

Like Dr. Ron Paul or Professor Newt Gingrich?
