Why Was Brennan Spying On Congress As Early As 2014?

We've been hearing about Russian Collusion since shortly after the 2016 Presidential election, but what about another major scandal that was somehow swept under the rug?

Barack Obama said with a straight face that his administration was scandal-free. Looking back we can see that not only wasn't it scandal-free, but there might have been too many scandals for the media to bother covering. One of them that seems to have slipped through the cracks is the time that CIA directer John Brennan had to apologize for spying on Congress in 2014.

Oh, you didn't hear about that? Probably because most of the media refused to cover the story to any length. CIA admits to spying on Senate staffers

Why would our CIA want to spy on Senators, Representatives and their staff?
Simple.....they wanted to blackmail members of congress.

Why would they want to do that?
I don't think it was because they were colluding with Russian agents.
Ask yourself.....what better way can the White House cover up their illegal acts than scaring investigators into silence. It's also a great way to keep everyone on the reservation. Nobody would be mouthing off about Obama abusing his authority.

The rare display of bipartisan fury followed a three-hour private briefing by Inspector General David Buckley. His investigation revealed that five CIA employees, two lawyers and three information technology specialists improperly accessed or “caused access” to a database that only committee staff were permitted to use.

Here's another reason you'd want to find out if our Congressional members had skeletons in their closets; It's a great way to convince fine and upstanding leaders into making political statements they normally wouldn't make against the new president, just in case Hillary lost. So if you wonder why Paul Ryan, Jeff Flake, and Bob Corker are constantly popping off on cue about Trump, now you have an excellent explanation.
If you want to know the mindset of John Brennan, all you need to do is listen to what he said early on in the Russian Collusion investigation, that he felt Putin might have 'something on Trump'. Perhaps, at the direction of President Obama, John Brennan has SOMETHING on several members of congress. Frankly, if you look hard enough into someone's history you'll discover crimes that even the people that committed them don't even know they committed. Obama used this illegally obtained dirt on people throughout his presidency. Obama was extremely thin-skinned and he was, in the words John Brennan instead used against Trump, "Drunk With Power".
Apparently the Russian Collusion scandal is just a sting operation. Hillary and the DNC, with the help of John McCain, Harry Reid, and Bruce Ohr, set up Trump by putting a mole in his campaign, and used Fusion GPS to arrange meetings with Russian agents just to set him up. Then they used a fake dossier (which was just Hillary's opposition research on Trump) to begin an investigation into election tampering.
This is what happens when you put in power a nobody who conspired with domestic terrorists to win seats in state and federal elections, and the only leadership experience he could list on his resume was "Community-Organizer". Barack Obama was the empty-suit they needed to get a foot in the door that domestic terrorists needed to infiltrate our government. Keeping Hillary out only made sure that this criminal activity was exposed. Now we have to make sure that we flush these swamp creatures out of government before they damage our institutions beyond repair.
He fessed up and apologized. So what's your point?

So if I were to spy through your bedroom window (shudder) and got caught I could just apologize and it's all good?

Only after he sat in front of congress and lied about it. It took a report by the IG to show that he lied to congress before "he fessed up".

So it is fine if you lie and spy until someone proves that you did it then as long as you say sorry all is forgiven. So you have no problem with government abuses. If they come out and someone gets outraged then no problem if they "fess up".

CIA Director John Brennan is also expected to speak publicly Tuesday, and he and his agency see the situation much differently. They believe the CIA acted appropriately in response to Senate staffers who improperly gained access to documents they were not supposed to have.

The clash grew out of a long-running Intelligence Committee study of the CIA's interrogation and detention practices under the George W. Bush administration. As part of that inquiry, the CIA set up a special facility in Virginia where committee staff members could review millions of secret documents.

At some point during their work, Senate staff members gained access to the draft of an internal review the CIA had done of the interrogations. Senators say that internal review, which remains classified, was far more critical of the CIA than the agency’s official responses to their questions had been.

CIA officials say the Senate aides were never supposed to have access to the draft, which they claim is covered by executive privilege. They began to investigate how the committee staff members had gained access to it.

In January, the CIA informed the committee it had conducted what the agency called an "audit" to determine how the staff members got the study.

The CIA has referred the conduct of its own officers -- and also that of Senate aides -- to the Justice Department for possible criminal investigation, officials said.

Too funny how you are anti Brennon when all he was trying to do was protect people like Gina Haspel who was using illegal interrogation techniques and even destroyed evidence.

So we got it. The CIA has no oversight by anyone, is allowed to lie about what they are doing even to those who claim oversight rights. But then if caught they only have to apologize. Sounds like a police state.
While you say that the president is trying to create just that. But we give the CIA a pass.

Thank goodness the Dems opened up the illegal interrogations that the CIA used during the Bush admin, otherwise we would not of known about Gina Haspel. Brennan tried his best to stop the draft, and thank goodness Obama said the past is behind us (he could of indicted the members of the CIA that were involved ). Yet the GOP in the Intelligence Committee all voted against sharing it with the public , save 1. Although Brennan was never involved in the illegal interrogation techniques, he understood they were just following orders from Bush, Cheney and the top dogs in the CIA. Actually all he is guilty of is lying and trying to protect the CIA from a draft report, but I'm so very glad it all came out.

Sounds like a semi-rational excuse to someone who hasn't a clue how things work in Washington. Problem with it the CIA has no law enforcement function.....so if they had a problem with the Senate improperly obtaining classified information, they should have notified the proper authorities, before they took things into their own hands by conducting an illegal "audit".....by breaking into Congress's database.

The FBI and the DoJ should be the agency conducting investigations.....not the CIA. Brennan was just using an old dispute as an excuse to break into Congressional Computers and files to gather dirt.

Feinstein publicly accuses CIA of spying on Senate computers
Sounds like a semi-rational excuse to someone who hasn't a clue how things work in Washington. Problem with it the CIA has no law enforcement function.....so if they had a problem with the Senate improperly obtaining classified information, they should have notified the proper authorities, before they took things into their own hands by conducting an illegal "audit".....by breaking into Congress's database.

The FBI and the DoJ should be the agency conducting investigations.....not the CIA. Brennan was just using an old dispute as an excuse to break into Congressional Computers and files to gather dirt.

John-Brennan-Obama-Hagel.jpg

Only after he sat in front of congress and lied about it. It took a report by the IG to show that he lied to congress before "he fessed up".

So it is fine if you lie and spy until someone proves that you did it then as long as you say sorry all is forgiven. So you have no problem with government abuses. If they come out and someone gets outraged then no problem if they "fess up".

You are making an unwarranted assumption, that the Trump dossier is unreliable.

Generally, "former intelligence officers and other national-security experts" urged "skepticism and caution" but still took "the fact that the nation's top intelligence officials chose to present a summary version of the dossier to both President Obama and President-elect Trump" as an indication "that they may have had a relatively high degree of confidence that at least some of the claims therein were credible, or at least worth investigating further"

Anyone who voices an opinion to your disliking is trying to overthrow the US government.
That's funny muddy - do continue :)

Dude....I have a pretty good grasp of the English language.
I guess CNN and MSNBC don't have many people watching....but he's been fomenting Sedition during MSNBC primetime.
Some of the seditious crap we've been hearing is mostly from the news media.....and now John Brennan is being paid by the media to prop up their fake conspiracy theories.
They've been calling Trump a dictator, a monster, a traitor, a racist.....you name it. No nasty comment has gone unsaid, and Brennan is in the thick of it attempting to give it credibility.

The more I see about Brennan, the more and more I see him as someone who abused his office and rented it out for political purposes.
The guy is a sleaze. And right now parading around on MSNBC and CNN playing the part they want him to play is absurd.
