A UK tax policy intended to soak the rich has caused highly specialized physicians and surgeons to retire early, depriving more than a million citizens of their services. A new report details the extent to which progressive taxation has harmed British patients.

The NHS is in a long wait times, and rationing. The UK lost 441 general practitioners last year and had 11,576 unfilled vacancies for doctors as of last June.

When you take the money out of the business, and the Doctors can not pay off the cost of training, or keeping current you quit or move somewhere where you can work. I can't blaim them for shutting down and moving to the USA.

Because people deciding whether or not they want to go through the efforts of a decade or more that it takes to become a practicing physician, is entirely dependent on the political party in charge.

No......why spend your childhood and 20s working while others live on welfare to become just a government clock puncher? It used to be that you sacrificed your highschool years and college years taking the toughest classes, working long hours in those classes, going on to medical school where you ramped up the work load, while all the other students in majors that were far easier, were partying on the weekends and having fun, so at the end of your 20s, you start to see your reward with a really good income while you are saving lives and helping people.....and now.....you waste your early life doing all that work...and the people you are saving tell you you need to make a salary unfit for the life you gave up.....

The conditions, not the tax is the problem. With all the cuts doctors and nurses are being asked to do the impossible. Nurses are getting ridiculous "pay rises" that are below inflation, Doctors were being asked to put in even more hours than they already do. Don't you recall doctors going on strike due to the changes in their contracts? Nothing to do with tax.

Oh and many EU citizens are leaving because May refused to guarentee they'd be allowed to stay post Brexit.

Add that to medic from other countries being told, they'd be kicked out is they earned less than £30k, which is the case for the average nurse, you've got a perfect storm that's nothing to do with tax.
