For the same reason the Chinese have to follow the Chinese Constitution. They have the right to go someplace with a Constitution more to their liking and many do. Just like Americans, blacks included, have a right to leave the US to someplace with a Constitution they don't like.

Then there is the alternative, which I highly recommend. You could try to overthrow the government and put in your own Constitution. Good luck with that by the way.

A credible question. Our forefathers never intended that document to be permanent. They intended it to change through the ages to reflect the growing country and world changes. If you add the amendments it has changed, but maybe it's just time to rewrite it.

Because in spite of slavery..the concepts that were written into the Constitution were sound. And once the "personhood" of black people were established in this country..they enjoyed the same rights as every other American. They are also a vital and important component in what makes this country a unique and awesome place.
