As people age, most become so set in their ways that it would destroy them to become understanding to apposing views... even and especially if those apposing views come from the partner they've maintain consistent relations with through the years. It is like sleeping with the enemy... in a sense.

My first wife was older than me and that didn't work out, we fought all the time. My current wife is younger and we get along just fine.

I saw this formula somewhere for guys to determine the youngest girl he should date: Take your current age, divide it in half then add seven years.

So as a 48 year old the youngest woman I would be dating would be 31.

You're overthinking this question.

Normal heterosexual men are to attracted women who appear most fertile. That tends to mean that younger women seem to be more suitable mates.

Women need men who can provide for, and will stick around while the babies are growing up. That tends to mean that women find slightly more mature men more suitable mates.

It's really that simple.

Yeah, that's the ticket! It's all about those far reaching imperatives.

I'd give more credibility to hormones and predispositon.

Yeah?

And where did those hormones come from? From disposition or from mother nature?
