:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

your weak projection humors me. I think some of your brain must have been left behind in a rice field

my genration worked. yours fucks off. ah whats a rice paddy????

wouldn't unemployment be a bit higher than 10% if my whole generation fucked off?

your generation IS unemployed !!!! playin cards and drinkin berr all day !!!!!

Oh?

Then why isn't healthcare reform a state issue?
Because heath care reform is something that spans state boundaries, you know, interstate commerce. Something the federal government has the right and responsibility to regulate according to the constitution.

Gimme a break: Feds can liberally expand the "responsiblity" of the federal government to include mandating health insurance, but not mandating protection for healthcare providers from frivolous lawsuits?

Cherry Picking Much?

Your's is the typical response of Lawyers making Money For Lawyers to interpret Laws For Lawyers

You are a part of the problem. You have heard this and have not bothered to find out if it's true or not.

Tort Reform Unlikely to Cut Health Care Costs « The Washington Independent

If the 1% of total heathcare expenditures is correct as a description of the cost of medical lawsuits, if the federal government banned all medical lawsuits, the price of healthcare would be lowered by exactly 1%. IMO, not enough to waste a good political battle over.

and why didn't Osama fix this back in jan/feb when he had plenty $$$ to do it then??? instead chosing to blow on failed and collaped programs that cost us trillions. and now the craps have all their lil marbles in one basket

god damned fuckin' liberals. their more dangerous than terrorist !!!!!

You depend on washingtonindependent.com for your unbias information, where those opposed to healthcare reform are called "obstructionists" (see the first sentance in the article you provided)?

You need to use a little common sense before you believe everything you read, and before you decide that the Libertarian PRI AND the MMS are full of crap.

The article quotes:

Krauthammer cited a study by the Massachusetts Medical Society that found that five out of six doctors said they ordered additional tests, procedures and referrals to protect themselves from lawsuits. He also relies on a much-criticized study from the libertarian Pacific Research Institute on the civil justice system to conclude that “defensive medicine” wastes more than $200 billion a year.

You can also follow the link to Public Citizen.com to support the contention that the PRI report was "much criticized."

Of course Public Citizen declares itself:

We fight for openness and democratic accountability in government, for the right of consumers to seek redress in the courts; for clean, safe and sustainable energy sources; for social and economic justice in trade policies; for strong health, safety and environmental protections; and for safe, effective and affordable prescription drugs and health care.

So I wouldn't expect them to have sought out unbias opinions about report supporting tort reform.

Do you mean They're more dangerous?

When one does little reading, it is reflected in ones writing. When one does little reading, ones opinion lacks credibility.

nice mis direction play. but the point went right over your head.

Doctor's visits and routine care should be covered by any and all private plans. This promotes preventative care and helps stem the rise in treatable infirmities. It's not just catastrophic care, it's the cheaper preventative care we should be concerned with!

good point Nosmo.... do you know how many guys i have run into over the age of 50 who will not have a colonoscopy , because they will not let someone stick a tube up their ass....preventative care only works if the people will actually go for the routine tests and take care of themselves....and there are many in this country who even though they have the means, will not go until something is getting bad....and then it may be too late.....

The insurance companies have Congress in their pockets. Can we agree on that? With that in mind, what types of real reform, real regulation do you expect?

The Democrats have been feverishly working on health care reform/regulations now since the summer. the Republicans, deep in the pockets of the insurance companies, have sat on their hands and obstructed during this whole episode.

Do you expect the Republicans, who have enjoyed a majority in the Congress for some time now, to do anything substantive? Do you expect Congress as a whole, still remembering how the insurance lobby has them in check, to produce any legislation that does not benefit the insurance companies at the expense of the sick and working class?

in one sentence the Dems are these tireless workers for the people, and Repubs are the assholes.....and then you loop them both together as being assholes, who wont do nothing because they are both in the Ins. Co's pockets.....which is it?....as far as i am concerned they both are doing as little as possible,BUT, making it look like they are doing something, but actually doing very little....and since the Dems are in the majority, they are the good guys while the Minority Repubs are playing the bad guys.....depends on who is in power for this.....but when its all done....it will basically be the same as what we have now...RATIONED HEALTH CARE.....just a different sheriff....

Just reading some of the posts on these message boards should answer your question. In America we have a large group of people who are:

1. Stupid
2. Lazy (Too lazy to read for themselves, so they believe there are 'death panels' in the health care bill).
3. Ignorant (Not smart enough to comprehend something as complicated as health insurance reform nor are they smart enough to figure out what something really is versus what it's being called.)

you mean here like those that think Health Care and a Health Care System are the same thing?....

The problem is bitter partisanship. No real ideas have come from the right side of the aisle. No substantive suggestions have been proffered by the Republicans.

you know Nosmo....there are already a few threads on health care around here, and someone in each one says what you are saying here.....and all of a sudden a dozen links come up with Republican proposals and some are just as good as any Dems.....this stuff is getting to get old....

I don't like the bill either. But not for the same reason, surely, you don't. I wish there was a 'robust' public option included.

But the bill is what it is because:

1) the Democrats and their accomplices (read Joe Lieberman here) are so deep in the pockets of the insurance providers, all we are getting is some limp-wristed regulations and no incentive for real competition.

and

2) The Republicans acted purely ideologically and politically rather than even the hint of real negotiations and inclusion of their proposals.

And it's that second point that brings us here.

Had the Republicans worked with the Democrats, maybe, just maybe there would have been legislation as a result. Instead we got a bill tailored for the status quo. More bureaucrats between you and your doctor. These bureaucrats are deciding exclusively with their companies profit in mind. Not the health of the premium payer, but the bottom line for the firm that cuts their checks.

God Bless America and the "freedom" she provides for this sort of monstrosity of a health care system!

For all the fear mongering and the energy it took to produce it, the Republicans and America will get precisely what they have been crowing about. Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.

Why was the Republican effort for reform so weak, and its effort at obstructionism so strong?

I'm not conflicted. I want to get what I pay for, and I want others to pay for what they get/want. I don't want to pay for someone to get free healthcare. Simple enough?

But you do want to pay for the "free" safety of other people? (taxes payed for the military, police, CIA, FBI, ...)

And you also pay for the firedepartment in the same way as people in other countries pay for their healthcaresystem.
