If the Rapture had happened yesterday the budget/debt ceiling crisis would be over by now.

Which is the joke within the joke. Sort of like when Barney the Dinosaur was the rage there was never a meteorite around when we needed it.

Quite frankly nobody cares when the next date for the end of world will be except for those who are gullible enough to believe that it will end. But you might try asking some of the "doomsday preppers". They are all convinced that it will be any day now.
