Why is the world so crazy now?

From some asswipe that raped 15 kids but is set free because he is now a she and no longer considered a threat (he/she/it should be in jail forever, not set free due to frigging sex change!!), to the craziness of LGBT crap in our schools with our small kids being taught that crap, to children being allowed to change their sex because Mommy thinks they know what they want at 8 years old and younger, to politicians using kids to get votes or creepy enough to make kids cringe by clueless parents ignoring their body language to GET HIM AWAY FROM ME, to blacks killing blacks, wheelchair people being beat up, to mentally handicapped people being attacked, to the multitude of other horrible things going on like continuing to let in people from other countries carrying diseases that can kill millions, etc etc etc.

What changed to get things this way????

The FCC needs to be empowered again to stop propaganda. That is not free speech.

I remember that. It's about the VOA and similar propaganda 'services', which for decades broadcast only to audiences outside the US. The way they were set up they could not target domestic audiences -- in fact nobody awarded a shortwave radio license was allowed to broadcast to the US. Technically, that is, even though the godcasters constantly did just that, saying they were beaming to Africa or wherever. It's a strange rule not shared by most countries.

What the previous poster was imagining was government content regulation on domestic private (non-government) broadcasts, which do not exist. Even this bill linked above isn't about regulation of content --- it's about regulation of audience target. We already know the government (BBG - Broadcast Board of Governors) is behind it and is going to fashion its propaganda after the government line. That's been the case as long as VOA has existed.

VOA has its main transmitter site here in Carolina, the most powerful shortwave station in the world. Sprawling acres of massive antennas. I got a nice tour of the place from an engineer working there. They're fully aware they're in the propaganda business, that's literally how he phrases it. They beam a lot of programming to Cuba from there, also I'm pretty sure they're sending coded CIA messages to spies from the same place because it's really loud here at the other end of the state.
