Why is the IQ in the U.S. getting lower?

you can try to blame a lot of our nations problems on immigration but this isnt one of them, if it wasnt for all the Asian families immigrating here and having their children excel in our schools our childrens accumulative iq would be even lower.
the low iq lies at the feet of the parents plain and simple, if you let your kid spend hours watching tv and playing video games instead of sitting with them and helping them learn then the kids are going to be dumb.

Shall I state the obvious? Look at IQ levels and standardized test scores based on race. Remove one race (I'll let you guess which one) and America becomes the smartest nation on the planet. The question is how do we bring this particular race up to the level of the others? Currently, our educational system is bringing the other races down.

OMG! If this is the case, then how come I am white and there are members of ALL other races who are much more educated than I will ever be? Are there statistics that prove this, or is it just a personal observation?

My dentist is black. My internal medicine physician is Asian. And both are VERY competent. I've been treated (effectively) by hispanic physicians, in the past. Are you speaking of the race in question....as the majority of the race?

I've met MANY ignorant whites in my lifetime. I'm not hating on my race, but ignorance plagues every race.

It's kind of a slavery denial thing. Somehow, some folks just don't seem to be able to connect slavery, beatings, lynchings (last one in early 1980s), the KKK, and continued prejudice of the white race, and the backward development of black folks, generally. I kind of think it's the racism in their heads that serves as the insulator between this reality and what they want to believe.

Black folks never got anything after the Civil War, but continued harrassment, and were blamed for the destruction that brought about their own freedom.

I've always said, if we do anything in this current day, as any form of reparations, that blacks never got, after making their white folks so much money in free labor, it'd be a free college education. But, in truth, we need to start much earlier, improve public education in general, since more black folks depend on it for their educations, and over a few generations, you'll see whatever gap you might find between the races narrowing.

But, there will always be a few white folks that see themselves as the Master Race. And we see where that kind of thinking can lead. In fact, many of them seem to be trying to instigate a race war now.

I don't believe that entirely...I think that we all have a maximum IQ that we can acheive, but if we are not educated and if we do not learn, we cannot acheive our personal max.

IQ measures how we are capable of using the information we gain. Learning a lot doesn't mean anything if you can't use it. The problem is that they are not being made to use it, all they do is memorize information.

An example of what IQ does:

You learn about electric magnets and how they work in an electric engine. You then tinker with it and realize that if you power the axle yourself the opposite happens, instead of using electricity it makes electricity ... thus you now understand how many generators work. That requires IQ, learning how the magnets and engines work to begin with is just memorization.

The Liberal Teacher Unions have been an awful disaster for our Public Schools. They have chosen to bombard and indoctrinate our kids with their far Left political ideology rather than teach the kids the basics like Math & Science. That's one big reason why many nations which have far less resources than us have moved way ahead of us in education. The slavery blame game has run its course. The problem today is with the black family unit, which is in shambles, and the government has to shoulder the blame for causing a lot of that by substituting the government for one or both parents.

They've reduced it all to aggressive indoctrination on how to be good little future Democrats and Teacher Union Members. Sit down and have a talk with your child and find out what they are really being taught in their Public School. I think most parents would be shocked and that's why so many don't even bother to find out. The truth really really hurts in this case. Ah, now I see the connection. I have to admit I was always skeptical of the claim that races could have lower IQ but I never actually questioned the claim that races could have higher IQs...I guess my IQ needs some tweaking.

It doesn't make sense that Asians are superior IQ wise when you think about it, anymore than it makes sense that blacks are inferior.
