Why is raising Medicare/SS retirement to 67 so hard?

Romney/Ryan want to:
1) For any one under age 55 raise retirement age for SS/Medicare to age 67.

Why is that so bad for people age 55 and over today? It won't affect their payments. Nothing changes for them.

And for those UNDER age 55, So instead of receiving payments at age 65, people would have two more years to pay in.
Instead of money going out at age 65, money will still be coming in.

It is that simple.

My full benefits for SS doesn't start till 66 now, although I'm going to apply at 62, it would take 13 years to make up the difference if I wait till 66. I'll never apply for medicare unless I'm forced to.

raising the medicare age would cost some businesses money. The ones that offer retiree health care benefits becuase they force their retirees onto Medicare when eligable and just pay the supplemental policy.
