They are between 2 states south and north with much bigger populations.

A mystery to me.

They should be crummy also-rans like they have been mos tof their history.

About 50% of thecurrentteam is alledge to have used marijuana - so they instituted a drug-testing program to quelch the rumors.

I don't think the state populations have as much to do with it anymore. Travel has become so much easier, the athletes know they can still get home and family can still get to games. They go where they will be seen by more people and have the ptential to shine for the pro scouts.

Pro'bly `cause dey far enough north...

... but yet still have a temperate climate...

... so it don't get too hot fer practices.

Because they have developed a good recruiting program and use its state of the art training facilities and Having the Nike influence of Knight doesn't hurt.

I have always been surprised by Washington or Oregon schools competing with California group.

The lower tier of the SEC is not that good.

Lost to 2 Sun Belt Teams at home and ULM almost beat Auburn.

The SEC has 6 teams ranked in the Top 25 (AP Poll).

We have 4 teams in the TOP 10, and have locked in the #1 & #2 slots.

Is every team in the SEC a powerhouse? No. But show me someone else who has done what we have done and are doing.

UW used to own Oregon.

Currently - Oregon has won about the last 7 games against UW by an average of about 18 points.
