Why is homosexuality condemned in the Bible?

Without homosexuals, we would not have interior decorators and male chorus line dancers. The next time you go to see "Cats", thank a homosexual.

the ancients would f*ck a snake , all socially acceptable

the modern stuck up religmo's painted homo's ,a target

We know that homosexuality is condemned in the Bible, but why?

Some Christians say it is because God's plan was for man and woman to join in the sacrament of matrimony, and be fruitful and multiply.

So, homosexuality, by that logic, is not condemned because of what it is, it is condemned because it diverts a person from doing what they are commanded to do, which is be fruitful and multiply.

But then, there's a question.

Why does the Catholic faith command certain persons to remain celibate and/or chaste in order to serve God?

Would not a life of celibacy and/or chastity be just as sinful as a life spent in the homosexual lifestyle?

And on a broader note, are all men and woman who never marry living a sinful life?

I think we need a serious discussion, so let's not have the usual malarky.

Why is it condemned in the Bible?

It may have something to do with the staggering STD rates among gay males. Only about 10% of the population is gay but they account for well over half of all new HIV and STD cases in the US every year. I heard that there are a group of dedicated religious men who forsake natural relations with women for life in exchange for the unnatural and submit to the authority of another man for life as if he was their woman.

The superficial assumption that the refrain is about sex between men if in itself an indication that there is perversity lurking in the religiously addled mind.

Bunch of sickos if you ask me, even if they never had sex with anyone.

Where in the Bible does it say you MUST be married?

Also, those called to God are wed to God.

1 Corinthians 11:11
11 Nevertheless neither is the man without the woman, neither the woman without the man, in the Lord.

Man and woman were created to be together and when they are joined together they become one flesh. This is a union that can be eternal in nature.

Matthew 19:5-6
5 And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh?
6 Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.

In this union, God has given man the power to be more like God. The power of procreation should be held sacred and only used within the prescribed use that God has given man. Devils do not have this power but God has the power to procreate children. Only those who learn to honor this gift from God will have this power in the eternities. Acts that denigrate this wonderful power given to us by God are adultery, fornication, homosexuality, bestiality, etc.

The Catholic church's teachings on celibacy are not a life long teaching in Christ. Such teachings are for missionaries in the field. It is the purpose of man to leave his father and mother and be joined with his wife.

Mark 10:6-8
6 But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female.
7 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife;
8 And they twain shall be one flesh: so then they are no more twain, but one flesh.
....aaaaand not one word of that condemns homosexuality. But it condemns being single, kinda. That's a fine example of cafeteria christianity, thanks for posting it.

maybe you can find a condemnation of homosexuality in these statements:

Leviticus 18:22
22 Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.

Leviticus 20:13
13 If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.
Of course I can, since i posted, literally on this very page, that this nonsense is found in the old testament.

By the way, you shouldn't take your morality from the piece of vile, immoral trash that is the Book of Leviticus.
Again, whey is it you people all think that the ancients were all democrats?

In the New Testament I think it was for cultural cohesiveness. The Old Testament law is very holistic. There is life and death in every decision you make according to Old Testament law. By any stretch of the imagination if it increased life then it was good. If it decreased life it was bad. For example: Catching shrimp even today produces 5 pounds of by catch for every pound of shrimp. The pound of shrimp produce one pound of life giving substance. The 5 pounds of extra dead wildlife outweighs the life giving qualities of shrimp.

Another common example: Having sex while menstruating is inappropriate because it represents death of an unfertilized egg. This could have been a child full of life. This is a time of mourning not a time of celebratory sexual pleasure. The same goes for masturbation, oral sex or anal sex. According to the holistic and pure system of Old Testament law life is good. Death is bad no matter how minuscule or far fetched death is viewed. Oh yeah. By the way. You will disagree with this. So I wasted my time.

Because of the liberal policies of the Old Testament and the trend of people in the part of the world where the Bible derived.

Ancients of Germanic tribes were not liberals at all. They were very conservative. Their god was Thor who celebrated strength. The Old Testament and New Testament gods celebrate life and dignity for all men. It wasn't Marxist communism but the Bible clearly communicates a communistic approach to civilization.

The culture clash of World War 2 between Germanic thought and Judeo-Christian thought was thousands of years in the making. Conservative thought was slaughtered when Hitler died.

We will never go back to the Old Germanic way of thinking again.

Some places in the ancient world were quite Liberal. Sodom was the first recorded Gayborhood in world history, actually naming their town after a sex act because of their pride in taking it in the caboose.

In Biblical times, many diseases were blamed on demons inhabiting or infecting a person. No, they didn't know what caused it exactly, nor did they have anything to combat it with, because microscopes and antibiotics hadn't been invented yet.

Actually the ancients did know how to combat it through prevention.

Don't take it in the ass, and you won't get diseases. Basic common sense. That's one of the main reasons why Almighty God was pissed at the Gay Community in Sodom. He didn't want his angels infected with disease.

Actually the ancients did know how to combat it through prevention.

Don't take it in the ass, and you won't get diseases. Basic common sense. That's one of the main reasons why Almighty God was pissed at the Gay Community in Sodom. He didn't want his angels infected with disease.

Actually, there are many cases in older times when explorers to the New World came down with STD's from having sex with the native women, not because they "were taking it up the ass".

And, just out of curiosity.....................how in the hell is a spiritual being (angels) going to be infected by a human disease? They aren't of this world, so this world can't affect them, according to most religions.

For instance you can teach your children that Elijah was 'taken up' into heaven in a whirlwind, but by the age of 13 they should be able to comprehend that being "taken up' is just a euphemism for being lynched by a mob.
Or whatever else they want to make up to save themselves some of the embarrassment of believing in silly, magical myths, just like you do.
