Is there a ban on innovation and creativity in Govt agencies?? Are they more concerned about the ability to APPEAR important than actually helping? Got to ask you a question? WHY ---- is there not a fleet of mobile fuel stations that can be staged before a disaster and moved in when neccessary? Private sector can't really do this, but putting a convoy together consisting of a tanker, a couple trailers with pumps, generators and basic car supplies is NOT rocket science. The Nat Guard has mobile fuel convoys but most of their stuff is avoiding IEDs in Afghan. Besides, you would need to charge a nominal cost for the fuel and collect money. Because "FREE" stuff would cause more havoc than the natural disaster. Why is it that FEMA only excels at reports and certifying disaster personnel for "race sensitivity" issues? I suppose they could BUY or lease this stuff ad hoc for each disaster, but that wouldn't be sensible.. WHY --- can't they actually innovate and provide services that the private sector shouldn't be expected to cover.. Like emergency mobile fueling stations..
