Why gas pricing going up?

Not willing to. But have to.

First of all, no one is making you buy gas at the point of a gun. If gas wasn't worth what the price of it was - you wouldn't be buying it. Why would you pay $2.50 for a gallon of gas if you think the gas is only worth $1.50? You lose $1 a gallon off that proposition! So clearly gas is at least worth the current price to you - or you wouldn't be paying for it.

Second of all - what I highlighted in black bold faced type is your answer. You - and millions of others - have constructed lives for themselves where they "have to" buy gas. Why do you "have to" buy it? Is it because there is no public transit available to you? Why is that? Is it because you chose to live far from work? Is it because you and others failed to support your cities public transit initiatives?

How did the likes of George Washington and Thomas Jefferson get along without gas?
proof what a fucking moron you are
:wall:

Has it occurred to you that many people do not live in cities?

Yes. In fact, that's the root of the problem. If less people lived in the suburbs and more people lived in the cities, we would need less transportation.

Do you know that rural communities are the people who grow the groceries that you buy at those in town grocery stores?

No, I'm a complete fucking moron and had no idea that cows were raised on farms. Thanks for showing me the light.

Where does Wally World and Costco get their beef?

Probably from some pretty nasty places I would imagine, but if they want to continue to be able to offer their beef at low prices, they are going to eventually have to seek out product which is produced in a geographically closer location to the physical store which sells that product.

Should we all continue to subsidize ourselves into oblivion for the corporate masses and give away our land and then go to work for the corporates who now own our land?

No. In fact the corporatization of america is part of the problem. The fact there is a single wally world in a small town of 25,000 instead of half a dozen smaller stores means that on average people who work as cashiers will have to travel further to work.

A lot of people also owned their land free and clear and lost it because they could not pay the property taxes that were forcefully levied on them.

Since I'm the stupid person and you are the smart one who figured out cows live in the country - maybe you can explain the alternative way to levy property taxes? The one that isn't "forceful" - "voluntary" property taxes I guess is what you're getting at - you think property taxes should be voluntary?[/quote]

Although some people might not know, everyone does not live in a city and mass transit is not available everywhere, and the purchase of fuel is not optional, but necessary.

It just happens to be a 12 mile drive from the family farm to the grocery store, hardware store, feed store, or just about anywhere you need to go to obtain the things needed for everyday life, and there is no mass transit because it would not be economically viable.

Also, most farmers do live very close to their work, but that is not as important as the fact that the cost of fuel affects everything we purchase because of the cost of transportation of goods.

In closing, let me remind everyone that the food we eat also demands the purchase of fuel, even if it is overpriced, along with the fact that without all the fuel burning equipment our food supply would become almost non existent.

As to how did the likes of George Washington and Thomas Jefferson get along without gas, they used horses in lieu of automibles, tractors, and other modern mechanized equipment required to produce the ammount of products required today.

and Thomas Jefferson get along without gas?

I'm going to say, and this is just a guess as I don't have any acutal proof, but I'm going to say that they got along without gas because... um... you see... THEY DIDN'T HAVE CARS, AIRPLANES, MOTORCYCLES, OR ANY OTHER FORM OF TRANSPORTATION OR TECHNOLOGY THAT REQUIRED GASOLINE WHICH HADN'T EVEN BEEN INVENTED IN THEIR TIME!

Are you mad? It is because it is summer and people have been planning driving vacations all over America. Plane trips as well.

It's time once again for the big oil gouge, kids..

The fact that its summer doesn't typically result in a nearly 100% increase in the price of gas at the pumps.

Well not 100%, (that was only last year, 1973 and 1981 (?), gas goes up EVERY year before Memorial Day weekend, we were a gas station form 1941 to 1988, every year, and I mean every year, gas went up before Memorial Day weekend.

Gas has gone up 10-12% only in the last month or so.

Add into the mix crude oil futures going up and a volatile market and economy, unrest in the world and you have price spikes. The price went up too high last year, there was a market correction that sent it too low, now it's stabilizing close to where it should be.

was it a market correction of real tangible barrels of oil - or just imaginary ones bought and sold in futures contracts, the overwhelming majority of which are settled in cash?

Some of both and the outgoing POTUS was an oil baron and he had some influence on the situation.

Bush and his oil buddies...... oh wait. I mean Obama and his oil buddies. LOL
Oil Is Plentiful, Demand Weak. Why Are Gas Prices Going Up? - Yahoo! News

Because you are willing to pay more for it.
you mean it wasnt all Bush's fault to begin with, and market forces set the price?

whoda thunk it
then you wonder why so many think you guys are fucking morons

is it possible for you to post without being a dickhead?

I wouldn't live in the city if the rent was free.

Because they can and we will still consume.
That lying piece of shit in office is nothing more than a politician!!!
Prices will go up and then the taxes will as well.

Even if we all drive a little piece of shit prius or something the arabs will still raise prices. What the difference.

The answer is independence and that's what America used to be about!!

Did Obama promise cheap gas? I drive a friggin El Dorado .... I know how much gas costs. What makes you think he has any control over the Kingdom of Saud? They have been pushing for 75 dollars a barrel since the end of last summer. They have been cutting back on the supplyu side to achieve the current levels.

PS that is the president of the United States you are pissing on. I for one am offended by your lack of patriotism. Who are you in support of?..., our enemies?

dang, you starting to sound like the moronic troofers now

nope
yup

I may be wrong.

It could be the Atlantians who, as most of you must know, have been manipulating mankind's development for thousands of years.

It's hard to tell exactly which secret cabal is in charge of detroying mankind this week.

There's so many of them vieing for that opportunity, after all.

gamblers---er I mean speculators. These people who don't work nor provide a product or service.
Gee, say it ain't true, dillo. You mean to tell me we are all at the mercy of people who could care less if the country goes farther into the shitter than it already is?

Exactly who are these college educated idiot gambler/speculators? Are they American or are they from another country? Does anyone know? Exactly just who can we place the blame on? Will anyone be willing to single them out by name? I wanna throw some rocks! So do all my neighbors.

They hide under rocks---they take advantage of every loop hole in capitalism and will kill their own for 50 cents. The media protects them because they own the media. We're screwed.

Yeah yeah yeah...travel this, holiday that...BULLSHIT!!! It's an excuse to send the prices up only to NEVER see them come back down after the holiday travel is over.

Don't buy that line of crap. Reports already indicate that there's a large decrease in summer travel expected this year because of the economy. Our oil reserve is high...our demand is low. But the price keeps going up. It's just wrong.

If we take a giant step backward and start driving horses and buggies, how long do you think it will take before those items are too expensive to drive too?
Not long as they will find a way to tax the hell out of it food or waste!!

Id piss on him in person if I could get close enough!

You're right about one thing...he NEVER promised cheap gas. As a matter of fact, he promised it would go up to 8 or 10 bucks a gallon. And you morons STILL voted for him. 75$ a barrell???? We were at $100 a barrell!!! And then it dropped like a stone when we started looking at our off shore options. Obama gets his goons in office and they scrap the off shore exploration and BINGO!!! Opec raises the prices again. They know Obama's not gonna let us drill our own resources. They know he's too busy kissing the asses of the leftwing nutcase envirocrats. They can cut supply all they want. WE HAVE A MASSIVE RESERVE RIGHT NOW!
