Why does a god care if you worship it or not?

In theory I think God just suggests that if you intend to live a spiritual life that the one who represents a spiritual life should come first. I doubt he wants his ass kissed.

Worshiping God is only knowing who he is. You don't have to get on your hands and knees and worship like the religious people think they have to do. The opposite of worshiping God is to worship your own ideas, which means you work to please yourself.

A real he-man god would not be so egotistical as to require worship. That's why god, if there is one, is probably a woman. Secure enough in her existance not to need affirmation.
