President Trump said what? He never said we’ll leave NATO or to get rid of it. He merely suggested those Euro nations start paying for the protection we provide. The Cold War is over, so why should we really spend that much there?

How long do we need to stay there? Can’t the Euro Armies make up the majority of forces to ease the burden on the US?

The one big thing that needs to change in NATO is removing Turkey. We only allowed Turkey in because of the moderate Ataturks, now they are gone and Turkey is becoming radicalized like every other Islamic shit hole. No way we should be obligated to protect them.

There is already an agreement in place that requires members to increase their spending to 2% of GDP, by 2022, and almost all of the member nations are in compliance with that Agreement.

Perhaps if Trump had read these Agreements, even a page and a half summary with lots of pictures, he would have learned that Obama negotiated an increase in spending with your NATO partners, and that nobody owed the USA a dime. Instead, NATO leaders openly laughed when Trump said the USA was owed money, because it was ridiculous. But you fools at home, lapped it up with a fork and spoon.

Last but not least, if the USA has ended all of it's foreign wars, and is no longer going to be keeping your army at home, why do you need to spend 4% of GDP on military spending? Instead of the rest of us paying more, maybe YOU should be spending less.

Way back when the Constitution was written the Navy's task was to keep the sea lanes open.

Trump never tried to keep anyone from talking????? He threatened Michael Cohen's family via Twitter when Cohen testified against him. He had Michael Cohen sent back to jail for trying to publish a book.

Trump sued Mary Trump to stop her from publishing a book. Ditto John Bolton. He tried to have Bolton prosecuted for revealling "classified material".

Trump dangled pardons to a lot of people in Russia investigation and those who refused to cooperate were, indeed, pardoned: Gen. Flynn, Paul Manafort, Steve Bannon, Roger Stone. But for those who testified and/or cooperated - Rick Gates, Michael Cohen, there were no pardons at all.

What communists? There are no communists in Europe. China is communist in name only, as is North Korea. All of the purported "communist" countries devolved into left wing authoritarian dictatorships decades ago.

After WWII, there was a danger that Stalin's army could overrun Europe if the Americans pulled out, but that hasn't been a threat since the Soviet Union fell in 1989. Germany had no defenses post WWII because the Allies didn't the country which had started two world wars within 25 years to have the army or the equipment to do it again. In return for which, the NATO Allies have defended Germany.

When Europe lay in ruins after WWII, the nations there were defenseless, they armies destroyed and their equipment commandeered by the German forces. But once Europe had been rebuilt, there was no need to be there. There was certainly no need to stay once the Soviet Union collapsed.
